Nickle and dime you to death. Very poor management. Booked All,inclusive to find out several restaurants charge a cover charge,drinks require upgrades, I was even asked to pay for a bottle of water. Tried to go to the beach to sit and they wouldn’t t allow even though on both sides of the hotel was open. Will NEVER go again.

Gross rooms, gross rooms… and the rooms are gross. I’m trying to figure out what type of vacation this place makes sense for, but I’m not coming to a reasonable conclusion. We got forced into this accommodation because of an extremely large group and knew it wouldn’t be great, but even with an expectation at zero this place managed to under deliver. Just stay home.

This was my first time at Rose. I own a timeshare at sunset beach but haven’t been able to get in at rose until now. The location is much nicer because we like to explore and walk. The staff were excellent too. The rooms are old so gotta be prepared for that. If you want newer updated rooms I would stay at sunset beach and montecristo. Both are newer.

Good for beach access and swimming in ocean. Easy to walk to town or Uber. Food was ok at best. Limited restaurant choices on site. Only one pool on site.

We traveled to the Pueblo Bonito Rose on short notice during spring break. Some friends had arrived a day earlier at the Pueblo Bonito (Blanco) and were unhappy with their property which put us on edge. They complained about the poolside service, the food quality and the party environment. After being here a day, we have some of the same concerns, but have added some others. As a consistent visitor to Cabo, on of my issues is “The Grift.” You always have to be on the lookout for people and properties trying to nickel and dime you with hidden charges, unexplained fees and false advertising. The Rose is like many hotels in Cabo, an “all-Inclusive.” I also recall seeing that “gratuities are included.” The reality is somewhat different. The best restaurants require an additional fee and any drink upgrades are an extra charge. An example, is a Cadillac Margarita which costs extra. I was also pressured by a waiter at Cilantro for an extra tip after he forgot my drink order. When we arrived, we noticed a bunch of empty loungers by the pool with towels on them. 3 hours later, those loungers were still empty and in the exact same condition. When we talked to the front desk, they explained that they didn’t enforce any rules about using the loungers. Given the small size of the pool, that was very disappointing. We also tried the lunch buffet at Mare Nostrum which was disappointing. I could go on with some other issues, but you get the drift. It is the same Cabo crap, different day. Set your expectations lower than the unbelievable 4.5 rating and roll with the punches. The property has a great location and if you can navigate the attempts to pull more money out of your pocket, you can enjoy a few days at the Rose.

Old, a bit run-down

Pueblo Bonito Rose is perfectly located on Medano Beach, walking distance from downtown. Juan and Miguel warmly greet you at the bell hop stand. At breakfast there are several wonderful servers, supervised by Heriberto: Vicente, Evaristo, Raul, Alaudio, Luis, Ulysses, Enrique, Daniel, 2 Marisols, Beatriz, and Angel. The 3 kind hostesses (whose names I lost) greet us with smiles each morning. Edelfonso makes sure my husband gets hash browns. Poolside servers Isra, Gabriel, Carlos, Hector, and Alberto will take excellent care of you. Alma and Yuli are amazing food runners with a smile on their faces. So many of the pool dishes are delicious! Another Alma, the pool manger, will be sure you are enjoying the pool area. Israel and Luis, the pool concierges, can handle special requests with ease. Marco is a dedicated pool maintenance fellow, smiling as he replaces or scrubs tiles. The sushi bar has great food; much more than sushi. Julio is the jefe, setting a welcoming atmosphere. Ana, Samuel, Miguel and Mario are amazing servers, anticipating what you want. The Teppanyaki Rose is delicious! The staff are one of Rose's prime assets! You will enjoy your stay there.
