This is an amazing hotel and an experience You won’t forget .everything about the Sonnenalp is memorable, I’m pretty well traveled and I can tell you it’s a special place. The Sonnenalp location ,atmosphere ,service and amenities are five star.

The Sonnenalp is a true example of the very best in the hospitality industry. They always exceed expectations. Colorado is so fortunate to have them as a premier destination resort. The staff, accommodations, dining and facilities are the very best!

The room was comfortable and exceptionally clean. What truly made the experience special was the outstanding service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of high-quality food and attentive service that made each morning enjoyable. From check-in to check-out, the entire team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. If you’re looking for a hotel in Vail with exceptional hospitality, delicious breakfast, and friendly staff, I highly recommend this property.

We LOVE the Sonnenalp, we've been many times and my parents have been coming since it opened years ago. My personal favorite time to visit is the summer though anyone who loves to ski should try the winter as well. The resort is small enough to know you and feel intimate and not over crowded but large enough to offer all the things you want in a resort like pool, spa, multiple dinning options and more! It's quiet, beautiful, immaculately kept but truly, the staff is the crown jewel as many have worked there for almost a lifetime- which shows how the organization is taking good care of them so that they will take good care of their guests (and I can say they have since I was a child and now my children get the joy of their service!) Keep up the good work!

The location is perfect, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the restaurant was delicious, the facility pool and spa is great, and the room very comfortable. We loved our stay and will be back.

Sonnenalp is a lovely hotel with a superb staff.

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding weekend at the Sonnenalp in Vail. Overall we had a lovely experience. The support leading up to the event was phenomenal. We had the opportunity to taste our menu items and the staff put in extra effort to make sure our special requests for cocktails were taken care of. Day of the wedding there were misses. The most impactful of which was the ceremony venue itself. Prior to choosing the Sonnenalp, we had expressed concern with using the outdoor patio area for the ceremony, because of the privacy desired for our day. We were told that although the Sonnenalp would not force guests to leave the pool area that they would inform guests of the ceremony and that guests would respect our privacy. This was not the case. When we walked out for our ceremony, we were immediately confronted with two guests in bathrobes lounging by the pool. No one had asked them to leave and by then it was too late. If privacy is as important to you as it is to us, then do not choose to have your ceremony in this area unless they change their policy and make hotel guests leave. Additionally, due to inclement weather, we had our cocktail hour in the library and the area next to the bar. Sonnenalp staff failed again to keep hotel guests out of the area reserved for our party. The lack of regard for our privacy was disheartening. The reception area is beautiful. The food is fantasic. We had an amazing band. For about 120 guests it worked fairly well but I would hesitate to have more than that. Highly recommend staying for a spa day, particularly if they get a cold plunge for the women same as the men.

Charming hotel with a five-star location in town. Walkable to everything. We loved the fireplace in our room. Breakfast at Ludwig's was incredible... the food and the beautiful glass-enclosed room, and they even opened the roof so we could enjoy the fresh air. Wonderful experience all-around! Take time to read the history boards off the lobby.

We got married at the Sonnenalp in Apr 2026. It was absolutely wonderful and our guests had a fantastic time. Kasha, our wedding coordinator at the Sonnenalp, helped ensure the highest level of service. The hotel treated our guests like family. Because there was no snow, the Sonnenalp even offered special spa opportunities for our wedding guests. The cocktail hour in King’s Club and reception in Ludwig’s were perfect. Kasha and the Sonnenalp team really want to help bring your vision to life and help make any details happen. Can’t say enough good things about the Sonnenalp - we will absolutely be back and hope to have many more celebrations there! Thank you Kasha and Sonnenalp team!!

We had a great time at this hotel. The staff was so kind and helpful and the pool was great. Highly recommended for any trip to Vail.
