This hotel is absolutely wonderful. Everyone on staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed. The hotel itself is so beautiful, the live music on Friday night was great. The rooms are extremely comfortable and inviting and very clean. And the breakfast buffet was the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. We got a great deal becuase the slopes were closed for thr season and the stay was definitely worth our money. Everything about our stay was great. I would highly recommend staying here.

Fabulous location to explore Vail village. Wonderful European atmosphere. Accommodations were lovely and clean. Service impeccable. A great choice for our girls trip.

We stayed and got married at Sonnenalp. The venue (Terrace and Ludwigs) was beautiful and Maggie (Event Manager) was amazing. Her and her team's attention to detail, responsiveness, and flexibility made our wedding exceed our high expectations. The stay at the hotel was also a great experience. The room was nice, the pool and hot-tub were awesome, and the staff made all the little details memorable. We will definitely be back!

This hotel is at a level far above other hotels in Vail….the European touch that the owner’s bring with the decor, the staff, the cuisine….it just has no match.

The Hotel Sonnenalp provided an absolutely flawless resort experience for my ski trip. It absolutely deserves its reputation as the best hotel in Vail... I'd say it is comparable to a Ritz Carlton or a Four Seasons in terms of level of service and thoughtfulness. A number of things to mention: 1) The location is tucked away a bit from the bustle of Bridge Street, with its own frontage onto Gore Creek. 2) They have a ski valet service right at the Gondola, so that you just have to walk in your regular shoes to the gondola and pick up your ski equipment each day. This system worked flawlessly. 3) The overall level of staff friendliness and helpfulness was remarkable. The property is obviously well managed and the staff are working hard to create an atmosphere of idyllic retreat; 4) The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, quiet, sunny, and had everything I needed. 5) There are multiple restaurants right on the hotel property and the breakfast buffet is probably one of the top 3 that I have seen in my life; 6) There is a really nice common area with a cozy bar and a library and live music pretty much every night. People actually congregate and socialize in the lobby because the atmosphere is so nice. I will have a hard time staying anywhere else on my next visit to Vail.

The Sonnenalp is hands down the best hotel in Vail and perhaps all of America. It is our home from home and never ceases to maintain its high standards and extremely friendly and personal ambience.

I have been coming to the Sonnenalp for over 35 years - as a child, as a parent with my children, by myself and also with friends. In absolutely every instance, my stay was warm, met with great professionalism and just plain fabulous. This place encompasses all of the charm, ambiance and effort of an old world European, Austrian hotel, and I highly recommend!
