"Enchanted Memories"

Our first visit to the Sonnenalp was in 1991. We took a family vacation with our children ages 3 and 5 years old. This was the beginning of our love story with the Sonnenalp. It was heavenly. Everything from swimming from inside to outside in the pool, to smoothies and ski school and sleeping in a Murphy bed was all so much fun for them. We returned almost every year. We tried something different and spent Christmas at the Zermatterhof, but we enjoyed the Sonnenalp more than Zermatt. Fast forward to 2023, our daughter married in Vail and the Sonnenalp provided a glorious wedding reception! It was pure perfection. White glove service and attention to every detail. Now it is 2026, my husband and I are celebrating our 45 anniversary back at the Sonnenalp. We have come full circle at the place that feels like a second home to us. We love everything, from the mountain top picnics to the fireside s’mores. Our housekeeper Elydeht always made sure our room was immaculate. Maria Silberberger saw to our every need. Peter was happy to drive us to the hospital in the past, when one of us got hurt. Tony delivered the luggage with lightning fast precision. Stephen Schmidt runs the hotel with the highest standard of excellence. This family owned hotel was founded by the Faessler family. They have built a legacy of Bavarian charm and warm family hospitality over decades of devotion to the comfort of their guests. They richly deserve the recently awarded Michelin star.
