"Amazing location but not the Hilton service that I would expect."

5.0

The spa was very nice and the views were amazing! Nice ability to walk to downtown Avila for dinner.

The stay was unacceptable. I should have been warned in advance that major construction was in process before booking. After an eight hour drive, I was unable to rest with jackhammers going off late in the afternoon. The first night no sleep at all because something was beeping constantly in the room. When front desk was called they were not very responsive and had no idea what it could be and had no maintenance on staff at the time. A change in room should have been offered. It was finally fixed and it turned out to be a malfunction of the dishwasher. Slept well on my second night.

"WHAT MAKES THIS CLUB SO FABULOUS? IF YOU HAVE THE TIME. I'LL TELL YOU."

10.0

How about a review before I go? I lived in the area over 16 years. I went to a luncheon or two but never stayed at the club. I expect to find it nice when I arrive Jan. 28, 2026. I left my heart in the area and wish I still lived there. I know the weather won't be best, they are remodeling the front desk and I'm in a wheelchair ...so different now. Even that won't ruin being there, PLUS they are offering a fabulous discount price. The grounds overlook the bay where you can see sealions, seals crowding onto anything that has a flat surface to "take over and not let anything bother them"! The beach Is pretty safe for the tots if you go to the area that is by the main road and you don't let them roam. The shops are fun and there are some nice restaurants and wine tasting rooms. During the summer there are weekend musical events along the pier area. When it is foggy in Pismo many times it is clear in Avila. Coming off the highway is a darling farm type market. With ice-cream parlor, farm animals, holiday things to buy, fresh fruits/veggies, gifts for all ages, and fab baked goods. Nearby are beautiful private mineral spring spas...actually 2 places! Near the Club is a golf course. You are located within an hour of many fabulous places to visit. As you drive along Hwy 101 and 1 you see some of the most interesting and different landscapes. Which will you like the most mountains with gorgeous rock formations, or the live oak trees areas or maybe the volcano ones? Can you find the 7 sisters? Add the winding country roads with old fashion houses, barns..spring wild flowers. You might be driving by open areas of grassy foothills. sun and blue ocean. Head North and there is the beautiful town San Luis Obispo and it's famous University. Cal Poly...you heard of it every New Years Rose Parade. See the bubble gum alley, take in a concert at Cal Poly, summer street Farmers Market every Thursday.. Visit the beautiful mission..there is a hidden museum in the gift shop. You must stop and see the famous Madonna Inn. The restaurant is wonderful your plate will be so full you'll ask for a " to go" box. You must stop if only to walk inside and see the decor...pink, rose and gold. a wonder for your eyes. And the holidays are even more amazing. They don't mind if you take the side door entrance and look around. If you don't buy a slice of their famous cake you will be sorry. There are two gift shops. If you have family or friends coming for a couple of nights they might like staying at the motel part. What a treat! Each room is a theme. they can sleep in the caveman or the Victorian setting or...check out the options for some fun. South of San Luis are the Five Cities. back in the early 1940s '50s there were 5 little communities that over time grew into each other. To this day they still don't want to join together so you will find something to like about each. Pismo Beach has the large Pismo clams and if you can't dig them, you can still enjoy the yummy clam chowder. The beach is especially nice because the sand isn't rough. You can fish off the pier. DON'T FORGET TO WATCH FOR THE MILLIONS OF MONARCH BUTTERFLIES MIGRATING FROM CANADA GOING TO SOUTH AMERICA FOR THE WINTER AND THEN THE RETURN BACK. THE eucalyptus trees (are why they are there) GROVE IS ON HWY 1 ON THE SOUTH EDGE OF PISMO DOWNTOWN. ALL THESE CITIES, TOWNS, HAVE GOOD FOOD AND AN OLDER SECTION THAT IS FUN TO WALK AND SHOP. TWO YUMMYS IN PISMO ..THE CINNOMON ROLLS WELL yes you will need to PREPARE TO DIE WITH HAPPINESS and the candy shop sells suckers with worms in them. That should be fun to give to someone. A must is visit the Arroyo Grande Village. I hope the roosters are still running around. Cute antique shops. IF you love military head south to Lompoc and Vandenberg AirForce Base, maybe Elon's rocket will be lifting off. If you stand outside your room at the Club. I think you can see the rockets lift off. If not, you can for sure at the Pismo pier area. There is a mission that is worth the visit in Lompoc. I haven't even told you about the other fabulous places to visit, MORO BAY THE HUGE ROCK ON THE BEACH. Hey! Go scuba diving. the Pacific Ocean, may be cold but thrilling swimming in the kelp forest and the fish are lovely, too. You can go deep sea fishing or take a Harbor dinner cruise. Cambria Pines, a real charming village. Do they still sell the best ever homemade lemon ice cream at the Moon Stone restaurant north of town? OH! I hope their fabulous cactus garden is still there. Don't forget Hearst Castle. If you love historic furniture and decor and ...well it's a castle and it is fabulous. Just before you get there...a MUST STOP is the beach area where hundreds of Elephant seals rest. Each season a special group arrives. The moms about to birth. Then the babies, latter the teenagers rough housing, and of course the big guys looking for love. The sealions mating and growing along the beach. Hundreds of them...Don't forget there are several wonderful golf courses in the area. Google the missions. there are several nearby. The quaint town of Solvang and all that famous pastry. Christmas is a child's delight with all the beautiful Christmas ornaments for sale. North on 101 is the cowboy ...ranch/ laid back town of Paso Robles.. AND it's fabulous wineries. Wine tasting rooms. And outdoor big name concerts. Then the fall county fair. Talk about wine tasting rooms.. They are everywhere. Some nice ones right by you.

Rooms were largest spacious. The beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were nice all in all. It was a good stay.

Would’ve been nice if there was a complementary breakfast.

"I'll visit this hotel again"

10.0

We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful hotel. The suites are: (1) big, (2) very clean, (4) beautiful, and (4) thoughtfully designed with a great kitchen; it's far better than your average compact hotel room. There are 2 TVs in the suite with plenty of streaming services. There are also washing machines and dryers on each floor. We were lucky to have a room with an ocean view and watching the sunrise from the balcony was unforgettable. The amenities are great, but it’s the staff that are truly kind. They let our kids use the pool after checkout and provided everything we needed for a final shower. With stunning beaches and restaurants within walking distance, it’s the perfect getaway. Even with the holiday pricing, the hospitality made it completely worth it.
