Hotel Alster

The location of the hotel is good. It's at walking distance from the central station but the lady at the reception is absolutely rude. If you are someone who expects any service (like a restaurant or warm water or charger or absolutely anything to be honest) this is not the place to stay. Room amenities are very basic and there are definitely many more decent places to stay in with trained and professional staff.

hotel great central location buffet breakfast good but room was small bed uncomfortable with a pillow each bed was badly placed in room bathroom was tiny i asked for 2pm checkout as listed in hotel info book saying it was free only to be informed it would cost €50

The pillows were a bit flat and could do with an extra one. Nice location close to main rain station. Tea making facilities would have been good in room.

It was fantastic and very central

A small but practical hotel, with nice breakfast. Hotel's stuff was kind and helped us with everything we needed. The location of the hotel is also an advantage, as it is very close to Central Station of Hamburg.

Queen room far too small. Unable to open the wardrobe properly because of the bed. The shower far too small with a shower curtain. Staff not helpful. At checkin he couldnt wait to get back outside to his cigarette didnt even show is where the lift was. However the hotel (more of a b&b ) was really clean and in a great location. No bar or restaurant facilities but plenty near by

Good locatation easy walking to Old Town,small rooms

Handy position within easy walking distance of main station and town centre and shops. Booked a single room, which I knew would be small and it certainly was. No view, just an internal courtyard from the 4th floor. Good breakfast with long opening hours, staff all very pleasant. Would recommend for a short stay but might spring for a larger room next time. One point Expedia, why the awful picture on your web site?

As expected it's a decent hotel, everything you need and a decent buffet breakfast. We also got to check in about 20 invites early due to being early. You get what you pay for and it was handy for somewhere to put your head down at nihht.

Clean rooms and it is located near the central station. Very friendly staff. I would book this hotel again :)
