Ambience was good!

Overall, we really liked the two story cabana which was great for a family of four to have some room to spread out. The view from the balcony was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly (which you'll find all over Belize). The reason we gave this a lower rating was because when we checked in, the receptionist said, "We recommend that you not swim on our beach because the Sargassum grass in the water may cause health issues." That would have been very good information to know before we booked this place!!! We ended up having to rent a golf cart to drive several miles over to secret beach for the 'only' place without Sargassum. Secondly, the first night we had their fish special at the hotel restaurant and it didn't have a price on it. The fish was excellent but we were still hungry after, then the bill came for $150 USD (which only had two beers). Between the unusable beach and the overpriced dinner, it put us in a bad frame of mind on this Caye being a tourist trap. I'll re-iterate that the staff was awesome and the grounds are beautiful.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom. Everything was very clean. Staff was helpful and friendly at checkin and throughout our stay. There is a small convenience store on site with snacks. This was a nice location, as it is in between town and secret beach.

Great property. Friendly staff. Amazing view from the beach-facing cabanas. The only surprising negative was that the water was murky.

Location is in the middle between san pedro and secret beach, but there is not good places to eat around, and the food at the hotel restaurant and service is not good. The beachfront cabaña is good.

Nice place to stay!!

All the staff from the reception area to the restaurant were very friendly. The main pool had construction going on but was beautiful to have breakfast at the pool. The other pool, which belongs to the adjacent resort on property was absolutely breathtaking. You could walk into the pool just as if you were from the shoreline to the ocean, which I loved. No steps to get in and out of the pool. My beach front cabana room was very comfortable and had all the necessities required, including a nice front patio

We loved our cabana on the water, the pool, and the convenience store on site. Very good prices for everything and we chose to utilize their on site golf cart rental company and airport transfer service for a small fee. Very glad we did that and had no stress getting to/from airport or worrying about golf cart hiccups, since the company was right there with us if we needed anything! Concierge was extremely helpful when we had flight issues and the restaurant staff were extremely friendly and fun to talk to all week- great conversation with EVERYONE on site. OH the massages on site were AWESOME, TOO! That was great having on site-

We were bummed about the on site restaurant having inconsistent hours and the amount of time it took to receive food. Minor MINOR complaint, but we were stressed some mornings worrying if we'd make our planned excursions since the time of breakfast was inconsistent and took 30-45 min for toast and fruit. Understood it's vacation, but we got used to it after a couple days. FOOD WAS GREAT, just a little slow. & couldn't get drinks some days after 5pm, when they'd close early with no customers. Overall, awesome restaurant/service, minor complaint from busybody americans.

We have stayed at Captain Morgans many time for vacations since 2010. This time we were dissappointed with the unit we had and for an additional $700 (for 2 weeks) the staff moved us to a more desirable unit. I had a massage with Jenifer the first week we were there. It was by far the best massage I have ever had. I booked a second session the following week.

We were terribly dissapointed with the food at the resort. Service was very slow and the food (except just bacon and eggs) wasn't good. There was very loud construction that began each morning around 7:00 am. We had really enjoyed the pool bar during previous visits. This time - there were no bars set up at the pools. The pool nearest our unit was so cloudy and greenish that I wouldn't get in it the first week. The second week, the owners came in and I heard her scolding the grounds crew about the water condition. If was cleaned the next morning and remained sparkling clear the rest of our visit.
