Food was good. You just have to go to the specialty restaurants. Pool and beach was amazing. Customer service is first class. Was worth the price.

Day 2 on a two week vacation with 2 other couples. So far the place lives up to its 4 star rating. Nothing special. Rooms are clean, but a bit dated. Food has been good thus far. One a la carte, the Italian (excellent) and the buffet which has been decent. We won’t starve. All that being said, what is CRITICAL information for EVERYONE considering booking here is that the resort is opened to local residents on the weekends. I have no issues with residents of the DR, but the resort is currently overrun with large families of locals. What that means to YOU…is that there are huge line ups and shortages of both food and drinks. Seriously! I think under normal circumstances staff could keep up with demand, but certainly not on weekends. Breakfast buffet is ridiculously overcrowded and as such, the buffet is picked clean ALL THE TIME. There is a beach buffet for lunch, serving hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken (which is probably delicious), fries, and oddly, trays of steamed cauliflower or broccoli. The local residents literally pile as much food as they can on their plates with no consideration for those behind them; that and regularly butt in line food or booze. Arrogance or ignorance?

The biggest issue that made upset me was that I deliberately bought the VIP package so my kids can play at the lollipop arcade with a timed (1 hour) unlimited playtime. The staff said there was a disagreement between the hotel and the arcade and told us "to come back tomorrow" two days in a row. By the end of it, we ran out of time and never got to use the lollipop arcade. Everything else was good. (Food, Service, etc) They have a very nice ocean view on the beach. There was a small leak in bathroom sink that got on all the towels. Little things happen, but they fixed it right away - so no issue there.

Well what can i say.... like others i was a bit apprehensive because of some of the reviews... BUT my husband myself and our teenage lad all LOVED this hotel. I have been to different hotels in DR 14 times now and we have re booked here for 21 nights for our wedding anniversary in July 2026. I will get the areas for improvement/slight negatives out of the way first - Rocks at the water entry - ZZZZZZZ boring really and yes there are many so use shoes as recommended. Remember beaches in the DR are all public so not really down to the hotel to try to "remove rocks" Its nature guys! Paper Cups in the lobby area evening times - YUCK!!! This totally lacks any class and they go soggy and leak, your drinks also go warm. I am shocked that a Hyatt chain hotel does this, I can see that its convenient as its a busy hotel (but they all are!) and of course its fine day time/beach/pool but in a lobby bar of an evening its just poor i've never had paper cups of an evening in a lobby anywhere in the world we have travelled. We and other guests we spoke to all really disliked this and to be blunt his is the only reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5 management should address this as it really isn't classy at all and you should not have to upgrade at $50 UDS a day to get a glass as the sun club bar is the only pace they had them. Lack of draws/Storage in the rooms - As others observe there are no draws and lots of wasted space under desks etc where they could be provided. This is not ideal when you are stopping for 21 nights as we were there were clothes all over and had to leave loads in our cases. Room was subsequently a mess the whole time. BUT the room we had was over all really nice spacious and they accommodated our request for a kind bed and pull out for our son and we were pleasantly surprised this was a proper bed. POSITIVES - Activities/Animation - I have never been any hotel where the daytime and evening activities were as good as here! This is the main reason we are returning. Every day the animation team were energetic and fun and ran every activity advertised. We really liked them (i am in my 50's so dip in and out of bits n ot an animation crazy tourist but if i were younger there was so much i would likely have taken part in). I have to recognise the following animation who never stopped, included everyone who wanted to join and were so full of energy all day and night - SANSON - (Hola Mi Nino) - We all loved this young man.....A fabulous kind fun guy i really look forward to seeing him next visit. Sanson and Yose even video called us just to check we got back to England safely which was so thoughtful given the volume of guests the hotel has each week. YOSE - Spoke some English and would help you engage with the others, a calm caring thoughtful guy, always checking we were all OK La Maquina- She is amazing and hilarious with all the energy and fun she shows Chuchu - Again really careful to ensure you were included if you wanted always fun and ready with a dance for you Way - Good fun with the games All the animation were fabulous but i cant spend the whole review talking about them all! The kids explorer club (our son way too old sadly) was amazing, beach games,sun hat paining, pottery paining there was all sorts going on and it was of a high standard for little ones and all inclusive. Wish we had this when our son was young enough. Beach and pool activities were many and varied but did not interfere if you wanted peach and a chill out. Yoga, Bocca, foot darts, water bikes/aerobics, dance lessons, crazy games, beach zumba, bean bag/horse shoes games etc ... The list goes on! Join in for animation funny money if you win then save it up for the auctions where you can bid for hats t shirts rum coffee etc. Every afternoon at the main pool there was a themed party, water shows, fun inflatables, live music, dancing, themed food/drinks etc! Absolutely Fabulous. We were fortunate enough to be here for the 4th July party wow what an effort they went to. Evenings there were great shows in the theatre, live music/singers in the lobby before the shows (rock show, circus show and pirate show ere great for an AI resort) then after the shows some sort of party , light shows, fire shows, silent discos, karaoke, beach party ... No excuse to be bored here. The animation made a huge fuss of our son who had a special birthday whilst we were here as did the staff in the Chinese restaurant Nightclub was fun nicely air conditioned and open 2300-0100hrs just enough! Many do not speak English very well (we are in a Spanish speaking country so learn a little perhaps instead of moaning!?) however, all staff would do all they could to include all nationalities and do their best to communicate and we had great fun. Beach - We will only travel to this area of the DR now due to Sargassum which is awful and we are beach/sea lovers, there is no sargassum in Bayhahibe and the beach was lovely, it was well maintained and clean, they really do need to add some additional shades though they were literally all taken by about 0630hrs and frustratingly the ones on the "sun club" area sat empty but you would be moved if you tried to seek shade there. A large area at the top for volley ball/football and games BUT be careful its man made and concrete under the sane so there were a few hard landings and injuries on the volley ball area. Staff - All lovely and really appreciated you trying just a few words in spanish, they work so hard and were very happy to get a dollar tip here and there. Again a few really went out of their way to serve us well and were lovely always knew our drinks Pool Bar staff in particular - Alejandro - A gentle hard working man and a credit to this hotel who ensured you got your favourite drink served just right Carlos - A lovely guy who did all he could to make you happy Edward- (I may have miss spelt that) A smiley happy young man Felix - Again always ensured we got our tipple All the pool and beach bar staff were fabulous! Food/restaurants - We loved the fact that you could get a buzzer and have unlimited al a carts only draw back is you needed to go early or late for teh most popular ones but much prefer that to being limited. Italian and Chinese were our favourites but all were good. Buffet OK but didn't use them evenings Kaleidoscope for breakfast and lunch excellent with lovely staff. In the price bracket we paid and being regular AI travellers therE is a reason this is the only hotel in DR we have booked to return to and looking forward to 21 nights in july 2026. Take off the cost of your flight keep in mind you are in a spanish speaking country and have realistic expectations and there is no reason why you cannot have yourself a fantastic holiday here we certainly did.

Don't go if you're an English speaker and a vegetarian, staff ignore us cause they don't understand, and we left the restaurant because they don't understand your dietary needs.

All was wonderful - the only small discomfort was our room, it smell like paint but that was all..

Beverage and bars so poor , breakfast and dinner buffet are so poor, I hope have adequate staff in the bars to provide adequate service to much gust, also most of drinks and cocktails are not good very poor and not tasty , not fresh as expected

Very good for the price, if you have children it's awesome. The beach is clean with a lot of fish to see with snorkling equipment. The only "complain" it would be the food quality/variety but I think it is a cultural thing than a lack of effort. The hotel beach is very very good better than Saona/Catalina! <- Go there for the experience not the beach quality. There are a few rocks in there but not pointed. Trip to Saona/Catalina will take 2h each way!! Never those 45min they will sell you ... The rooms are cleaned everyday and have big beds! I would return to this hotel for sure!

Some of our clothes were stolen by the employees. We claim for a solution but nobody solve it. They enter to our room without permission

When I was checking in, I requested the upgrade and they told me that I have to pay like 50 per person daily which is a crazy amount when I had thought that I was a VIP client! They talked me that Expedia didn’t communicate to them that I was VIP, clean room Now the hotel room itself it is a disappointment I am very dissatisfied with the room because I’ve never stayed in a hotel room that a bathroom is so small anytime I’m in the toilet I’m scared of getting hit by someone coming in and opening the door. The view was excellent, I want to say they promoted that there’s a 24 hour cafe with ice cream and there’s no ice cream. when we were leaving yesterday I believe they were bringing ice cream to the cafe.
