Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel

We booked this based on the photos and reviews for this hotel. We knew that it was outdated and old from reviews, but figured we’d be fine with a retro vibe. However, as soon as we walked in, we knew we were duped. The hotel is OLD. The two women helping us check in were by far the rudest individuals we encountered in our visit to Thailand. We booked a room with a King bed for two nights. She immediately told us she only had a room with two twins and maybe would have a king room the next night. We advised that we paid for a king bed and she snapped that they were the same price. We said we would need to cancel if we didn’t get what we booked, and she magically had a room for us. The room itself is out dated. No big deal. However, the bathroom is disgusting. The shower looked to have mold in it, as well as the drain being completely uncovered with the grate laying on the ground. Water stains on the floor in the room from what looks to be flooding, a tv from 1980, and a bed that is hard as a rock. They also had the nerve to have a list stating how much they will charge you if anything goes missing. Half the items weren’t even in the room! Bottom line, don’t trust the photos, and stay somewhere else.

部屋は古いですが広く、とても快適でした。バスルームについても同様で、蛇口など古いのですが水圧はよくバスタブとシャワーブースがあり広々。ただ、エキストラベッドのスプリングが弱く眠りにくかったです。隣接したショッピングモールは土地の人たちが使うところらしく、お土産ばかりの旧市街では買えない普通の靴や洋服などが入手できとても便利でした。プールはチェンマイナンバーワンの広さのようで、宿泊者無料はお得です。問題はフロントのサービス。英語ができる人が少なく、予約して支払っておいたツアーのため３０分もロビーで待っていたのに忘れられていました。それを謝罪せずに言い訳で取り繕っていたのが信用できない感じでした。結局ツアーが戻ってきて参加できましたが、ツアコンにも嫌な顔をされて気まずくなりました。そのほかは嫌なことが何もなく、とても安く大型ホテルで快適に過ごせたので後悔はありません。

Whenever I’m passing through Chiang Mai I choose to stay here as it’s in a good area, the rooms are large and clean, the service is good and the price is very good value. It’s also only a few minutes from the airport which is convenient

Booked a room with a single King, they didn't have it for us when we checked in so they upgraded us to the Jr Suite. Too bad it was dark and gloomy and pretty dirty....seemed as if it hadn't been used in quite some time plus the WIFI did NOT work. We inquired about the WIFI 3 times before they finally moved us to a room that had WIFI and low and behold it was the room I had originally booked....ugh...lol!! The Hotel as a whole is old and outdated and is so large it can feel a little cold and empty. On the plus side it's cheap, the staff was pleasant, the morning breakfast buffet was actually pretty darn good and the grocery store/market nearby had really good local food...these positive factors saved the Lotus for us. In the end if you want an affordable place to crash out with a good breakfast buffet this is the place for you, personally...I don't think I'll be staying there again any time soon but I'm glad I tried the place out!!

Hotel is very tired and needs refurbishment. Internet too slow and limited: 2 connections per room. Could have been much better for a supposedly 4 star hotel. However the staff did their best to make up for the deficiencies.

Strange bathroom, very bad wi -fi

Staff wasn’t helpful at all. Reception area was unfriendly. Room had ants running around.

Minimal staffing levels.Threadbare carpets. Very little if any General Maintenance carried out. Very 1990's.

Outdated room furnishings, especially the bathroom. Room very clean but noisy. Temp setting on a/c uncontrollable. Very nice staff.

Friendly and helpful staff, english skills were good, let down by old rooms in need of renovation, and a wifi system that continually drops out
