"Service Failures, Unexplained Charges, and Lack of Accountability for a Returning Guest"

I have stayed at the Wyndham multiple times over the past three years for business travel, so this review comes from a place of consistency and familiarity with the property. Unfortunately, my most recent experiences have raised several concerns regarding both service and accountability. To start, I was previously charged $200 without any clear explanation. When I contacted the hotel, I was told there were no additional charges on their end, which only added to the confusion and lack of resolution. More recently, during a stay a couple of weeks ago, I encountered a serious service failure. After returning to the hotel around 1:00 a.m., my key card would not grant access to my room. I was instructed by the front desk to walk back and forth between my room on the fourth floor and the lobby multiple times to test the card. After several unsuccessful attempts, I requested assistance. Initially, I was told I was likely using the card incorrectly, but when staff eventually came to check, the issue was confirmed. At that point, I was left waiting outside my room with multiple bags for approximately 8-14 minutes with no clear updates. When I went down to the lobby for clarification, I was informed that the door could not be accessed and was offered a different room. This was concerning, as all of my belongings were still inside the original room. Despite booking a full suite, I was given a standard king room close to 2:00 a.m. with the assurance that maintenance would arrive around 6:30 a.m. to resolve the issue. I also emphasized that I had work at 7:00 a.m. and requested to be contacted. Unfortunately, no call or update was provided. The following morning, I went to the lobby around 7:50 a.m. after not receiving any notifications from the hotel. I found multiple staff members and maintenance present, but there appeared to be little urgency. I had to personally reiterate my situation and timeline, despite having already communicated this the night before. I was also informed that a manager would follow up, but I never received any outreach. What is most disappointing is not just the inconvenience itself, but the lack of communication, urgency, and follow-through.... especially for a returning guest who has stayed at this property numerous times. Additionally, there was no compensation or acknowledgment provided for the disruption. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and reviews both their customer service protocols and escalation procedures. At a minimum, situations like these should have clear response plans, better communication, and appropriate resolution for the guest.

Expected much more for the cost. Breakfast area was a mess, food was OK but there was no staff in attendance to keep the areas clean and was just overall poor.

Davin and the rest of the team for excellent! So kind and hospitable. Would highly recommend staying here. We had such an amazing experience. We told our corporate office so we can send more of our coworkers here to experience the same amazing experience we did. If I find myself in Sacramento again, I’ll definitely be staying here! Also, shout out to Matt and Kevin for giving me great advice on the best trading card shops in town.
