Best Western Plus Milwaukee West

Nice rooms nice staff. Would stay again if ever in the area

We often stay here a few times a year when we go to a Milwaukee Brewers game- great for walking to and from the game or they do have a shuttle. They have a pool which is awesome for our kids- the staff has always been great. The hotel is older but it’s clean and it’s what I would expect from the area- West Allis is a pretty cool area and there are some fun places you can walk to from the hotel. Neat old school working class Milwaukee local businesses. That being said- this last time our room smelled like wet dog. I have no idea if you can bring pets but super disappointing. Next time we stay I guess I will definitely request we stay in a room that is a “pet free” room…. Although we never had this issue before.

Hotel had good proximity to Brewers stadium, but nothing walkable. Would have been better off with a hotel downtown, since it easy to drive to the baseball stadium. Hotel condition was not very good. Room had a leaky ceiling, the ice machine never worked, the carpet in the hallway was quite worn, and the men’s restroom near the pool was in poor shape. Overall, just not as nice or convenient as the website indicated or the cost justified.

Broken elevator, surly desk clerk, somewhat malodorous room. I won’t be back

Every employee who I spoke to was extremely nice and answered my questions in a professional manner even when I was visibly upset. The room was initially very clean when we finally were able to get into our room.

I’ll just start with this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. First, we couldn’t get into our hotel room for the first 10 minutes after checking-in, and the front desk person had already gone on a break so we had to wait even more to get a key that would work. The elevator was out of service the entire stay which made getting through the hotel at the parking lot level impossible, because the restaurant doors are locked at certain hours. The hot tub was out of order with just an orange cone in front of the stairs. No sign posted, which I feel like is a safety issue. There was also no sign posted to indicate that the first floor ice machine was out of order. Only the one on the 3rd floor was available. There’s no need to have shower dispensers for products that don’t get filled up in the room. The pool towels don’t get stocked in the pool room, they are in the fitness room, so you might as well just bring your own down. Especially when they did not have a sign posted telling us this information until the second day we were there, so we purchased towels to have for swimming. The coffee area right when you walk in the door could use some napkins or paper towels to clean up any spills, especially coffee spills. The breakfast “buffet” if you want to call it that, served RAW MEAT in the cooker the first morning we had eaten. The second morning it was actually cooked, but they had run out of milk so there goes the cereal bar, which was the only decent part about the buffet. The hot items were not hot, and sometimes not even cooked. I don’t have high expectations for hotel breakfast to begin with but this is just an example of why there are no expectations anymore. We had ordered dinner for pickup on our first night from the hotel restaurant downstairs, and not only was there no one to get me taken care of for at least 7 minutes (when I came right at the pick up time they gave us on the phone) but they also provided us with no silverware to eat our meal.

The room was clean and comfortable. No complaints there. The only negatives were that we were in town for a concert and when we got back to the hotel, there were no parking spots available. Also, the elevator was broken, so we had to carry our luggage up and down to and from the top floor. But overall, our stay was fine.
