What can I say but WOW! We had our wedding recently at Fairlawns and the experience from the very beginning from the open day, to booking the date, right through to the wedding day has been nothing but a fantastic experience. Staff have been so warm, friendly, helpful, professional and accommodating throughout our wedding planning journey, right through to the actual day itself, nothing has been too much; including assisting to help with my disabled father. We would like to thank Josh, Hayley, Ryan and ALL of the Fairlawns team including, reception, bar staff and cleaners. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, a mix of modern and traditional and kept extremely clean, tidy with beautiful decor and facilities. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding, you helped to make this a day to remember! Thank-you Fairlawns! We will be coming back every year for our anniversary x

Visited yesterday as part of a Fathers Day present. Was greeted once again by the friendly Louise at reception,,as well as Justine. Had an all over body massage, and also a pedicure which were both well deserved and received. Thank you again

Over rated not good value for money have to pay extra for the spa. Restaurant too expensive complex menu and that’s why the bar area food was so busy

Had a wonderful night celebrating a golden wedding. The room was magnificent, and the decorations wonderful, the food was outstanding, great portions and full of flavour. Staff were friendly and always available if needed. We thought the drinks were very reasonably priced. Car parking was a breeze. We would definitely recommend this venue.

Fairlawns Hotel and Spa – Disappointing Stay for a Supposed 4-Star Experience We recently stayed at Fairlawns Hotel and Spa, a property marketed as a 4-star hotel with spa facilities. While we appreciated the upgrade to a junior suite, the overall experience fell well below expectations especially at a cost just short of £200 per night. This price did not include breakfast, nor did it cover the use of any spa facilities. The junior suite, though initially appearing spacious, was impractically designed. The room was split over two floors, and things quickly became baffling. On the lower floor, we were greeted with a corner sofa, a coffee machine on one side, and a kettle with basic tea-making supplies on the other. Oddly, the bath was also located in this same space essentially, the living room. Yes, the bath was in the room, near the seating area and drinks facilities. It was the only nearby water source, meaning we had to use it to fill both the kettle and coffee machine. For a hotel of this calibre, this setup is simply unacceptable. Upstairs, the bedroom had its own quirks. A desk was positioned directly at the side of the bed, making access to the side of the bed inconvenient. The separate bathroom was fine, but the entire layout of the suite felt clumsy, as though functionality had been an afterthought. Refreshments were also underwhelming. The coffee machine supplies were minimal, with no brown sugar and a very limited selection of teas, no decaffeinated option, and not much variety at all. Noise insulation was another major issue. I was woken at 3:00 AM by loud talking from the neighbouring room, which continued for hours. The lack of soundproofing meant a poor night’s sleep. Despite being advertised as a spa hotel, the room rate did not include access to any spa facilities, and breakfast was an additional £17 per person. Given the experience with the room, we opted to eat elsewhere. While the room was clean, it’s clear that corners have been cut. The hotel seems more focused on events and corporate functions likely due to the available space than on providing a high-quality guest experience. The suite was outdated, oddly configured, and overpriced. Having stayed in many 3 and 4-star hotels both in the UK and abroad, this stay ranks among the most disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Fairlawns based on this experience. ⸻ Let me know if you’d like a version with a more concise tone for online platforms.

We had the absolute pleasure of being looked after by the most wonderful hostess during my cousin’s christening. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble – she was attentive, warm, and genuinely cared about making sure everyone was happy and comfortable. Her calm and professional manner made the day run smoothly, and she handled everything with such grace and efficiency that we were able to relax and truly enjoy the celebration. Whether it was helping with last-minute details, checking in on guests, or making sure everything flowed seamlessly, she did it all with a smile and a personal touch. It’s rare to come across someone who is so naturally accommodating and kind – she genuinely made the event feel extra special. She was a huge part of why the day was such a success, and we are so grateful for her care and attention. If anyone deserves recognition and a glowing review, it’s her. Thank you for everything – you truly made it a day to remember!
