Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Room a bit dated but bright and comfortable. Nice breakfasts. Short walk to Bowness.

Very friendly staff and a warm welcome, in a great place in the town. The old buildings are not the place to be on bottom floor if a light sleeper. Any movement from above is very noisy. I know it is all about preferences but the worst cooked breakfast I can remember. Hard sausages and burnt streaky bacon every day. Although we were first in and the dining room was empty, when my wife asked to have a poached egg instead of a fried egg, was told the chef doesn't do that with the Full English. Yet three other options included a poached egg. Incredible tail wagging the dog stuff.

An absolute little gem of a find! Was looking to come to Bowness and started reading various hotel reviews on Tripadvisor. Wanted a hotel within walking distance of the lake and town. This hotel had great reviews. Called to book and we were lucky enough to get the last room available for this weekend, The Bay Suite. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jack a lovely polite welcoming guy whom we chatted daily with over our stay. An absolute asset to the hotel. Room was very spacious, clean and well decorated. This hotel had various different style rooms, Jack later showed us different options on our departure day. All were fabulous. Breakfast was delicious, an a la carte standard. Well presented and super fresh. The produce of the Cumbrian grill was so flavourful. Along with a hot option, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals , croissants were all available too. Veggie option also included, my husband had a veggie full breakfast. The second morning I had salmon and scrambled eggs, husband opted for eggs florentine. Both delicious. Location was fabulous. Ample parking . We parked up for the weekend and explored Bowness. Definitely will return, this is a hotel not to be missed. Massive shout out to Jack. Lovely guy,

Lovely, tranquil & pretty. We loved our room with a terrace overlooking the garden and watched the rabbits and squirrels. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very kind. I agree there is some updating needed, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience, It added some charm.

Fabulous hotel, with freshly prepared cooked breakfast options, and a good choice of cereals and fruit. We stayed in the main house, with comfortable bed and pillows (I'm very particular about my pillows 😄). Lovely gardens to sit and relax with a bottle of wine, and a relatively tame rabbit who wanders around quite happily munching the grass. The staff here are absolutely fantastic. Always smiling, and giving guests excellent service. We could not fault the hotel and would definitely recommend. Thank you. Tony and Nataliia.

A good find, room slightly dated and house keeping in the room could be better (perhaps a door mat would help keeping the flour cleaner) but saying that a lovely hotel. The staff were so helpful especially Melinda ( I think) and Dorothy. Our room 14 had a double and single bed and overlooked the garden. A good size kettle and teapot!! The breakfast was very good with an amazing spread of fruit.

Stayed here 3 times now and always a great stay. Super location far enough from the traffic but close enough to make the lake, restaurants, shops and bars easily accessible in a few minutes. Room was great overlooking the gardens. Staff always attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend this Hotel.

A gem of a hotel within walking distance of Bowness and worth getting rate inclusive of their breakfast! Stayed in family room with own parking spot, well decorated and sparkling clean so a most enjoyable 2 night stay
