We recently stayed at ITC Grand Goa with a large family group, including a 90-year-old wheelchair-bound grandfather, a toddler, and support staff. At the prices charged (₹37k per sea-view room and ₹60k for a suite per night), one expects a seamless luxury experience. Unfortunately, this was far from it. Right from check-in, the experience was frustrating. Despite clearly communicating our accessibility requirements, we were allotted first-floor rooms. It then took nearly 3 hours to reassign rooms, with the entire family waiting—an unacceptable delay and a complete lack of sensitivity towards elderly guests. Room hygiene was shockingly poor for a property of this stature. Several areas appeared neglected and not properly cleaned, raising serious concerns about maintenance standards. Service across the hotel was consistently disappointing—slow, uncoordinated, and indifferent. Dining was the biggest letdown: Breakfast was chaotic, poorly organised, and felt more like a crowded mess than a luxury offering Kebabs & Kurries: Food was good, but service was extremely poor (basic requests like water and ice required multiple reminders) Ottimo: Food was below average and underwhelming There was a clear lack of management oversight and staff training, which reflected in every interaction. To their credit: Golf cart service was efficient Pool facilities were excellent The beach experience was outstanding, especially the well-designed wheelchair-accessible chair and helpful staff—this was the only truly memorable part of the stay A small concession on billing at checkout does little to make up for the overall experience. Overall: This property is surviving purely on its infrastructure and location, while completely failing on service, food quality, and hygiene. At this level, such shortcomings are unacceptable. Frankly, the hotel needs to shut down temporarily, reorganise its operations, retrain its staff, and rebuild its standards before positioning itself as a luxury resort again.

On the 9th we decided to have a staycation in Goa( we re from Goa) and we locked in on ITC Grand as repeat guests here. And we weren't disappointed. Suzan made our check in process and stay very comfortable. We were given a complimentary spa massage which I thoroughly enjoyed thanks to Neha,who was very experienced and I loved it! Will definitely be back for another relaxed weekend soon!
