We were looking for a unique location for a special birthday and this hotel had it. Location beautiful, standard of service excellent, restaurant had menu that was impressive. Food very well cooked. Cottage room we stayed in had everything we needed.
Just wish our itinerary allowed for a couple of nights

The hotel was very traditional, but not in an out-dated sense. Overall a very pleasing and comfortable stay. The staff we very welcoming and attentive.
If you are looking for a characterful property in an exceptional location with fantastic food and exceptional service then this is the place for you. If you don´t like quirky, whine about the cost of a meal, and want antiseptic efficiency then don´t stay here. It´s not perfect but it has so much character that you can forgive its faults. If you have a soul.

It was a lovely positioned hotel as we were going to the theatre next door. Lovely setting. Room was very hot, could not turn off the radiator so had to use the air con. Then in night I became cold as there was only 1 blanket on the bed. Lovely breakfast.
