Fort William Henry Hotel

The accommodations were amazing, and the grounds were beautiful.

This past weekend my family and I stayed at the hotel. Our family included a 4 and 9 year old. they loved it we all had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and accommodated all our needs. The restaurant was great. The fort was awesome!! You are within walking distance to downtown and the fort is on premise. It was also a reenactment weekend for the fort. Definitely visit during a reenactment weekend. So fun seeing history come alive. Highly recommend you experience the Fort William Henry Hotel. We are looking forward to our next visit!

We were there for my step son's wedding. It was magical! The staff was very nice and attentive. The rooms were perfect! The venue is gorgeous!

Pros: the hotel had amazing views of the lake with a nice outside porch area by the lobby to sit and relax , fire pits , a large outdoor pool and an indoor pool. , it was easily walkable to the main town, had free coffee/tea onsite 24/7, rooms were decent sized and clean with fridge, iron , toiletries etc , ample parking. Cons: the rooms were not worth the cost. As others have mentioned, it wasn’t clear upon booking that we would not be in the main building which is more like a hotel with interior doors (these rooms WOULD be worth over $300 a night). Instead, we were in a motel-type room , next to the main building, with door facing the outside, and a view of the parking lot. I would stay again because I mostly focus on location and cleanliness (which it was) and would recommend to others. However , in my opinion the rooms should be updated if the hotel wants to charge this kind of money.

We liked that the hotel was right by the lake and easy walk to town. The outside grounds were beautiful with plenty of places to sit and relax to look at the water We did not like the lakeside restaurant for breakfast. The hostess was unpleasant. We sat for 30 minutes and no one took our order ..they kept walking by and saying someone would come. When the table next to us got the wrong food, we eventually left without eating there. We felt bad for the single waitress that clearly had no help.

Beautiful location and a nice staff but the rooms need attention. Wallpaper peeling, AC not functioning well, sink wouldn't stop dripping, security safe not working, handprints on mirrors. The desk attendant offered to have things repaired but we did not want to disrupt our stay with maintenance in the room. We had to lock our valuables in the car while we were away. We booked this room over a year ahead of time and would have expected the best room but it was not the case. We also paid more than people who booked much later than we did. We made the desk staff aware of the problems and it would have been nice to get some money back but it was never offered.
