Wyndham Sea Pearl Resort Phuket

I don’t normally write reviews but I felt like had to as this hotel was terrible, they don’t clean your room you have to keep calling them numerous times and when they finely do they don’t even change your sheets they use the same ones and also they never change towels or even add toilet paper it’s a hassle to get it done, at reception there is always someone arguing about something with the staff. I mean I did read the bad reviews before booking but it was cheapest I could find so I went with it as I needed to be in that area but I didn’t realise would be so bad

My large room & spa were clean and fresh. I was thrilled to have my room ready prior to scheduled check-in and located close to my extended family. The family pool attendant was 5*. As the resort is so far from a good swimming beach the pool area should be an outstanding feature. Unfortunately it isn't. The pool was clean but the entire area is in a terrible condition - 80% sunbeds are unusable and the decking is dangerous (rotten, unlevel with protruding nails). The resort is also let down by the same menu at every food outlet, although the view from the main restaurant at night is lovely and the late hours are good. I didn't have particularly high expectations based on reviews and my only unexpected issue was 4 days without hot water.

On a scale of 1-10, this place was fine. No frills, definetly could use a deep scrub down. Moldy seats by the pool. Our hot tub didn’t get hot, but that was fine because it’s hot outside and we didn’t need it. Breakfast was bad and over priced but getting food delivered was easy. Only thing that really bothered me was the feeling of being trapped. When I booked, I was not aware that it is impossible to walk anywhere. Hotel is located off a busy/dangerous highway so walking anywhere was off the table (I did it once and it was scary) cabs were very very difficult to get and when you did get one they would over charge you because what other option do you have? If you’re going to stay here, rent a scooter and don’t have any expectations or standards.

I would strongly advise you to stay at another hotel! You will be terribly disappointed!

The exterior is fantastic, nice options for pools. At first we were happy the room was spacious and we enjoyed the jacuzzi on the balcony however as the days went on it went downhill. The rooms were not cleaned properly. We had to ask multiple times for the bedsheets to be changed, they never were the full 10 days we were there. We had to call down to reception every day to ask for toilet roll and fresh towels. I was told 1 towel per day even though there was 3 of us and this was day 5 without fresh towels. The waiting staff at the restaurant don't really understand English so it was a painful experience ordering food in the restaurant. I rang for room service and I was passed around again cause no one could understand me so I eventually gave up. They would leave dishes on a table outside the rooms which would cause ants to cover them and the walk way. By the end of the 10 days anytime we tried to ring reception no one would answer the call. Very disappointing for the price paid and for an international hotel.

Old property needs updating too expensive, staff is stressed out…

this is a hotel in terminal decline,everything was either chiped,cracked,worn ,did not work properly or was mouldy (i got through two kettles in a week).The pool towels where all stained with bleach marks, sometimes the bath towels had holes in them the phones in the room donot work properly they ask you to ring the reception using whatsapp. they have shuttle buses but ordinary holidaymakers are not allowed to use them so you have to take a taxi each way to patong at a cost $15 per trip, so, heres a thing my wife had a fall and needed to go to hospital,it would not have broken some great eternal plan to just run us to the hospital fifteen minuets away,oh no ,i had to order a taxi to take her. Also there is a four lane main road runs past the resort so if you step outside all you hear is traffic noise. the only bright star in all of this was the house keeper who came daily see was my wife ok and if she could do anything for us she even bought a linctus to ease the pain of her broken wrist, this woman should be promoted instantly!! I will never stay at this or and club wyndham resort ever again and i suggest you dont either

the moment I walked into the room. It smelled like mildew then I go to the bed. The sheets were dirty. They smelled like they having been washed in years

Unfortunately there is no shuttle to the beach. We were aware the Patong beach was a good distance from the resort, but there are no sidewalks to get there. Just a steady stream of scooters and mass traffic. Simply put, attempting to walk there is taking your life in your hands. Expect to budget $40-$50 Cdn for transportation to and from hotel to beach area per day. The WiFi is akin to dial up modems of 20 years ago. Couldn’t stream Prime music, let alone videos. It constantly had to be reconnected. Extremely frustrating to say the least. Want entertainment? Good luck. You get BBC and one English Channel on the TV. The reception is slightly better than “rabbit ears antennas” from the 60’s. The picture was completely snowy and migraine inducing. Want fresh brewed coffee? Wishful thinking. Instant freeze dried is on the menu. Like to dry your hands at the kitchen sink? Sorry, there is an apparent shortage of dish clothes and paper towel at the “resort”. Care to wash your face in the bathroom? Bring your own face clothes.You seriously get two bath towels. That’s it. No hand or face towels. Care to walk in bare feet? Better have leather skin.The decking has to be original and nails were popping up in places and the planks are warping. Want a glass of wine on the bar deck? 400baht plus tax and service charge buys you an under poured mediocre red in a dirty glass. Simply put, think twice. Staff was great.Tried to make us happy.
