Salthouse Harbour Hotel and Spa

The staff were great, really efficient. Sorted out the problem with the twin room set up.

We stayed the night and found the room to be comfortable, however we had breakfast in the room the following morning and it was inedible. The toast was under-cooked, the bacon was dry and like leather. My poached eggs were meant to be soft but were hard. To top it all the food was cold. We complained and were told that they had received no other complaints that morning (as if that mattered to us). They also said they could not refund the price of the breakfast and could only offer us an upgrade room if we stayed again. Overall an unsatisfactory response.

Ottima posizione, sul porto ma vicina al centro. Camera medio grande con un grande televisore (che non abbiamo usato). Buon assortimento di the e caffè. Staff molto disponibile e collaborativo, in particolare il responsabile portoghese (non ricordo il nome) è stato molto accogliente. Buono anche il ristorante.

I reserved a quiet table for my partner and I in advance, as I am a little deaf, and arrived early to check that it was available, just to be sure - but when we came to the agreed time to eat they had given the table to someone else despite previously agreeing with me to reserve that table for that time. Additionally the tone of the staff was very dismissive and in one case a bit agressive. Its a busy place thanks to their social media reviews - but the reality from my actual experience is that this is not a good place to eat. Food is only one half of the equation. Good service is the other half. My experience so far with salthouse has been very negative. There are better places to eat in Ipswich for sure, as we went somewhere else and had a lovely evening. Steer clear if I were you.
