Bournemouth Carlton Hotel, BW Signature Collection

Im going to be honest here; early check-in is not an option. Weve been made to wait 1.5hrs after check-in time, but were given bar vouchers so fair play on staff trying to make do. Shower sink took ages to clear water, room window was opening all the way (I was with 2 small kids). Hotel is old and in need of refurbishment.

No immediate disabled access to the hotel reception. ( in hined sight we should of asked ) Thankfully there were 2 lifts to the upper floors . Staff were polite and helpful . ( A special thankyou to Ben who made our breakfast experience enjoyable ) We stayed in a superior room with balcony. Amazing views . Made our stay very pleasurable . Room was massive, as was the very comfortable bed . Ensuite was tired but functional. ( steps into bathroom were challenging for my mobility challenged partner ) Perhaps we should haved called hotel before booking 🤔 All in all a very nice experience , we shall return 😊

Location is very good the sea and swimming pool gives it a great view. The hygiene can be improved. Overall the staff are friendly.

We arrived early today, check in was nice and easy. Staff very friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool is amazing. We sat eating our lunch on the terrace. Location is perfect, opposite the beach and the walk way down to the beach. Extra bonus was our room, 111, with sea views and very large spacious terrace 😊

Overall, an okay experience, Noelia at the front desk was amazing and if not for her it would’ve been terrible. Older rustic feel to the building which gave character but some of the staff a bit snooty and lots of the customers very grumpy. Water pressure in some of the rooms is terrible also.

I arranged a day at the pool with my family. The outdoor pool was freezing there were 10 under boys running riot around the outdoor pool jumping on us . Parents sat around drinking at 11am in the morning. No Lifeguard. No Hotel staff to control the situation . These boys even tried to get into shower area with my daughter. We ordered food it took an hour as order was lost so we were given crisps and 2 dips The day cost £60 and wax a disaster

The service was very professional and warm we told them we were on a honeymoon trip and they put rose petals on our bed and made the towels look like swans

We were a Hen party. Hotel was really welcoming

Paid over £2,000 to stay here & when I checked in to my room the bathroom was filthy and full of pubic hair, dirty tiles & toilet. Complained to reception & was offered another room for one night only even though I was staying a week, which had stained carpets & smelt of mould, so I refused. Room was promised to be cleaned the following morning, which it wasn’t and when I raised the pubic hair issue again a member of staff responded by saying “it might be cracked tiles!” A clean room is not a lot to ask for but when you are paying thousands to stay in a very dated hotel. Also had a hole in my pillow which makes me think the bed was not changed in between check ins. You now have to pay £1 a towel to use hotel towels whilst sitting round the pool, so would advise taking your own. My mum is disabled so requested a shower and was given a room with a bath, again when this was raised nothing was done about it! Jacuzzi was out of order again another reason we book as this helps my mums pains and was not warned that it would not be working for the whole week. Swimming pool was being cleaned by a member of public that was staying at the hotel as no staff done it. Outsiders are allowed to use the swimming pool which is unfair as a lot of days they took up sun loungers and hotel stayers did not get a lounger. Although outsiders pay to come in they lowered the tone by swearing, talking about drugs and smoking around the pool! The night we ate in the restaurant we got asked by 3 members of staff if we would like to order even though we ordered 45 minutes ago, very badly managed & no communication skills between staff working. Really disappointed as my parents have been staying here for years and attend the hotel at least once a year. The hotel has now potentially lost them too as I will not be returning.

We had our daughter's birthday party in the conservatory for 40 people with a hot buffet. The food, service and organisation was superb. We also stayed overnight in 3 double rooms, the quality and cleanliness was brilliant. Special thanks to Kelly, the functions manager for her help, Kartik, Amelia and Pavel on the bar, Josephina and Sue on reception, Terri and Alison in housekeeping who work tirelessly to make the hotel as comfortable and welcoming as it is. The breakfast with Gareth, Ben and Ty was perfect as we were still really tired from the night before! The hotel has amazing original features if you look around, the chandeliers and original details are beautiful making this hotel a really lovely place to celebrate.
