Bournemouth Carlton Hotel, BW Signature Collection

We stayed in a spacious suite on the 2nd floor with beautiful sea views. Hotel has a great location, just a short walk to Bournemouth beach. Bed was super-comfy, pool area was well-maintained and we were pleasantly surprised with the food (having read mixed reviews). We would definitely return.

Hotel has seen better days. Very badly cracked sink, rotten under the taps and quite possibly the worst hotel shower i have ever experienced in my sixty odd years. Long, long walk with steps up and down to room 105. Against that a very large room, a larger than king size bed that was extremely comfortable.

Extremely run down, old fashioned hotel. Toilets were disgusting and 3 sinks out of use. The room had no air con and windows could only be opened a crack. Provided a fan that had pretty much no power so didn't make a different anyway. Beds made up for children in the middle of the room. Bar couldn't provide cold bottled water. Swimming pool area feels very dirty. Would not recommend or stay here again.

This hotel is a bit dated but fully functional. Amazing staff always helpful. From waiting staff and bar to the cleaning staff and reception ,always cheery and helpful. Exceptional service. Ate at cocktail bar the food was phenomenal.....the pools and scenery were superb and very close to beach....I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and I look forward to booking my family in next summer !!!

During my recent trip to Bournemouth, I stayed at the Bournemouth Carlton Hotel. Below is my detailed feedback: Positives Prime Location: The hotel’s location is genuinely convenient—just a short stroll to both the beach and the town centre. This makes it easy to enjoy seaside walks, access local shops, and explore Bournemouth’s main attractions without needing transportation. Spacious Rooms: The guest rooms are generously sized, giving ample space to relax after a day out. This was a pleasant surprise compared to many city hotels with cramped accommodations. Decent Restaurant Food: The food served at the on-site restaurant was decent. While not gourmet, the variety and quality met expectations and provided a comfortable dining option on evenings when I didn’t feel like venturing out. Negatives Aging Building & Poor Maintenance: Being an older property, the building shows signs of wear and tear. Maintenance standards are below what I’d expect, with aspects of the infrastructure not being up to the mark. Low Water Pressure: A notable issue was the lack of water pressure in both the shower and the washroom. This made showers less enjoyable and points to plumbing concerns that need attention. Room Cleaning Service: Housekeeping requires significant improvements. The room cleaning service was inconsistent, and requests for towels went unanswered despite multiple calls. This lack of responsiveness detracted from the overall comfort.

It was fantastic, we loved it so much the staff were brilliant and they went on and beoned for us. Can't wait till we go back again.

Pool area is fantastic but rooms are very tired. Threadbare carpet, no aircon, my room was a long way from reception and the corridors in the morning smelled very strongly of weed! Breakfast opens at 8 on the weekend, which was too late for me. Staff are amazing! Parking £20/night unless you have blue badge

Once again we had a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Carlton, our 26th year of visiting this lovely hotel. The staff on reception, including Josephina, Noelia and Sue were outstanding, always ready to help with any queries to our full satisfaction. The room was perfect. Lovely sea view with large balcony which we made use of with the great weather we had. Breakfast was a hot and cold buffet, all very tasty and Nicky had the layout in the restaurant well planned after trying to improve how the buffet was presented. Nicky and her staff kept everything running smoothly. A special mention to Ben who always went the extra mile to provide a good service. Evening meal was also of a very good standard and all the staff worked so hard even though sometimes they were a little short staffed. Credit to all of them. We noticed the hotel itself is slowly getting a makeover which is nice to see. Management had clearly been working hard at this. Lastly the pool area is a great asset to the hotel and is well looked after by Raven and her staff, well done to them. Once more a very enjoyable stay and see you all next year for our 27th visit.

Rather tired and dated hotel. Toilet cracked and damaged sink. Room 115. Not been to Bournemouth in many years. Sad that the 'lift' to lower level fell into disrepair years ago. Breakfast good as were staff. Ben in the restaurant was brilliant.

My son checked out on Monday 7th July and accidentally left his trainers behind . We have tried phoning the hotel and sent an email but we are being completely ignored. All we want is his trainers to be retuned, they were not cheap ones. Customer services is a joke
