Ocean Beach Hotel and SPA Bournemouth - OCEANA COLLECTION

We had the unfortunate experience of staying at this so-called "hotel." From the outside, it appeared pleasant enough, though we arrived after dark—ironically, that was the highlight of the entire stay. It took nearly 10 minutes for a receptionist to appear at the front desk, and when they finally did, we were met with sighs and eye-rolls, as though our presence was an inconvenience. No greeting, no warmth, and certainly no information about breakfast or amenities. We hoped things might improve. They didn’t. That night, we were kept awake past 2:30am by another guest screaming, crying, shouting, and throwing objects around. My 7-year-old daughter was terrified and unable to sleep. When we contacted reception around 1am, they seemed hesitant to intervene but said they’d “look into it.” Nothing changed. The next morning, we arrived for breakfast just 15 minutes after service began. The buffet offered three sausages, three rashers of bacon, and no eggs. When we asked, we were told fresh items were on the way. They never arrived. Meanwhile, staff began clearing our plates while we were still eating—reaching across the table without a word. Completely unprofessional. That night, the same chaos erupted again around 1:30am and continued until after 3am. Either it was the same guest as the previous night, where nothing would've been done, or it was brand new guests. Was there any point speaking to the reception again? We thought not and instead had to put headphones on my daughter for her to fall asleep again. The following morning, the buffet was fully stocked—finally—but everything was stone cold. That was the final straw. We packed up and left. At checkout, the same receptionist who had checked us in asked how our stay was. When we explained, all we received was a half-hearted “sorry, we’ll look into it.” My advice? Stay anywhere else. Seriously—anywhere.

Unfortunately this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, before even entering the hotel, we noticed that the photos on the site, must be very old. We went to the reception desk and had to wait between 5-10mins just to get someone to check us in, as it would seem that the people waiting for a pint, were more important than those wishing to check in. When we arrived to our rooms, again these were not the same as pictured on the website, but the bed was comfortable and clean, rooms very dated. Our first night we were kept awake until the early hours of the morning by people in the room above, shouting, crying and throwing things around, spoke to reception, but don’t believe anything was done as it carried on, another guest say when they arrived at 4pm the reception staff had already spoken to the room involved, the following night, it was the turn of some girls fighting and shouting until the early hours, it was like visiting Fawlty Towers, the only good thing about this hotel, is the view

The hotel is at the perfect spot to go to the beach. The breakfast was cooked nicely. The rooms were dirty, leaking and mouldy. The beds were lumpy. We went as a large group of 14 adults.

mine and my girlfriends experience at this hotel wasn’t the best. the check in was the best part of our stay to be honest. Thank you to the receptionist, she was lovely no complaints about your reception staff:) On to the rest of our stay, at dinner we were sat at the complete opposite of end of the dining room and when we got there acted like we weren’t expected there, food was bland and missing veg. It seemed that everyone else got veg not us. they also tried to charge us for juice when we asked about it since it didn’t come out with the starter as it said it would in the menu. On to the room, we did get upgraded and it was decorated for our anniversary but it was still extremely tiny with no air conditioner and a poor fan. In the night you can hear people thudding on the top floor. I did get a massage from the spa and it was really lovely so plus points. Unfortunately will not be returning! Have had better stays in bournemouth:(

Was meant to be an anniversary night away No WiFi Tv not working Condom (used) found in bathroom Lighter and filter found on floor Empty knickers packet in wardrobe When we complained they could not care less staff unhelpfull and rude. Shower was boiling hot or freezing cold. How very disappointing. No customer service at All !!!! Good luck anyone staying there!

Hotel is on good location , but the rooms are very old and smelly. Parking isn't free when you book a room VIA booking. Com The price is too high compare to the quality. You Cannot relax and listen to music. The reception worker is not there all the time to help you when you need. They work at the bar and customers there have a priority. No air conditioning. Old , damaged windows .I never go back to that place. It should be 1 star max! Very disapoinnted

Nice an old building so a little limited. Could use a top to bottom refit.reception area combined with a bar very confusing.lift very very small
