Ocean Beach Hotel and SPA Bournemouth - OCEANA COLLECTION

My friend and I went from Monday -Friday. On arriving the staff were lovely however got to the room and it was dark. My friend and I said if they had arranged the bedroom differently it wouldn’t have felt so dark. The heater in the bathroom was so dangerous. Also the whole hotel needed some TLC. But the staff made up for the rest of it every member of staff was lovely.

For the price you can’t fault the hotel. Yes it’s a little tired but it was clean, comfortable and served its purpose. Just across the road from the beach, about a 20 min walk to the pier. Staff were friendly, if a little thin on the ground. Food in Italian restaurant was nice. Outdoor pool was closed, we were able to use the one 2 doors up but unfortunately all the sunbeds were reserved (with towels/flip flops - people never appeared!). We sat around the edge instead and enjoyed a cocktail poolside. Hotel provides pool towels. Room has hairdryer, kettle etc.

We were a group of 8 ladies visiting for the weekend. Whilst there were some areas of the hotel/room that could benefit from a little bit of attention (carpets, silicone around shower etc) overall we really enjoyed our stay. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food for dinner in the Italian Cafe and our rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed being able to use the pool facilities at the neighbouring hotels in the same group.

This hotel is in a good location for the beach, and a 15/20 min walk from town centre. The hotel is very tired looking now, paint peelings off the walls, and around the pool. We did not use the pool as it looked dirty with bits at the bottom and stuff floating. The rooms was very basic. No pictures on the wall. Not a place to take my wife for a weekend away. Was ok for us as we had a lads weekend. Staff was very nice and smartly dressed.

Bedroom wasn’t particularly clean . All the doors were hanging off the drawers . Wall paper hanging off the wall . Doors banging all weekend no one had any consideration . Didn’t see a cleaner or maid all weekend . The swimming pool has scum across the top and the pool area was never checked during the day . The plastic empty glasses and cans blew about all day and for hours there were unattended towels on the sun beds which no body delt with. The inclusive evening meal was extremely limited with around 3/4 choices per main . The chicken was over cooked . The roast potatoes had been reheated and frozen veg wasn’t even cooked and still hard . We wanted to extend our stay for a few hours on the day we checked by parking our car on the onsite car park but the main behind reception admitted he didn’t want to help us with free parking even though we were paying guests for the weekend and the proceeded to charge us for a another couple of hours . Avoid hotel , the photos are old .

Use of pool,large bedroom, use of other sister hotels, on hill above beach & views,,not like carpet in room stains ,reseptsionist chatting in other guest's conversations instead of dealing properly with guest they are dealing with, service very slow pool very unkempt needs cleaning & maintenance around areas, sister hotel people leaving towels on loungers All day without using around pool,not allowed to move loungers around to be near to friend when 2 empty ones did finally come available

I’ve given a 5 star rating as the service the staff absolutely fantastic…. Bed Rooms need some TLC which I mentioned but as to the rest of the hotel…. Very tastefully decorated…. Would definitely visit again

I booked through spa breaks a package deal that include multiple things We had a spa treatment which was a 25 minute back, shoulder and neck massage this was amazing!! The ladies we had were lovely once this was done out room was ready 30 minutes early which was nice, we got to the room and the toilet was trickling so once we was changed to go and use the facilities at the sister hotel we said to the receptionist who was happy to sort it out he said he would get maintenance up, when we got back up to the room it was sorted but not flushing all the time which wasn’t a problem you just had to leave it a bit longer The deal was to include a bottle of Prosecco and a sweet treat in the room and this wasn’t there we assumed it would come at some point so gave them the benefit of the doubt, we then ourselves should have gone down to reception to let them know but didn’t until the next morning the receptionist just turned round and said ‘sorry we forgot’ that was it, I’m sure seen as it was paid for and included we could have just taken it home with us but that didn’t appear like an option for them and we felt too uncomfortable to say anything else on the matter. The breakfast was good plenty on offer. Bed comfortable but the rooms could use an update but not the end of the world
