Ocean Beach Hotel and SPA Bournemouth - OCEANA COLLECTION

I saw lots of negative reviews for this hotel so was very nervous about booking but we’d been let down at the last minute with the accommodation we’d booked for our weekend away so booked the Ocean hotel and hoped for the best! I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised, yes the outside is a bit tired but the reception and bar area are lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed, even a fan and heater in the wardrobe for hot/cold weather, beds were really comfortable and it was much quieter than I expected it to be, we had a stunning sea view too, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

This is a perfectly OK hotel, let down by attention to detail. For example, no channel changer in the room, bad TV reception, tepid bath water and windows painted shut. Some of the staff are lovely and helpful. The terrace with sea view is lovely. I wouldn’t stay here again because I’d rather stay closer to transport and the town centre.

This hotel has tiny bedrooms the bathroom is that small you had to step into the shower to make space to close the door the room had no air con despite facing the sun with all windows there was some big air blowing contraption in corner of room taking up loads of space the rattled all night but didn’t work it was so hot in room I felt sick and we left the room about 6.30 am next moring just to get some air we were the first people in for breakfast the dining room was ok basic the breakfast was undercooked and very basic also it was cold and I mean stone cold we stayed for evening meal as it said award wining Italian restaurant the choice was very very limited my husband ordered steak it was 6oz that was the only size available it was like a minute steak I ordered carbonara as you carnt really go wrong with that it came like warm and was swimming in greese the worst carbonara I’ve ever had I don’t rate this hotel for the food or the rooms the decor is cycadelic purple and yellow if you like that sort of thing it does have an outdoor pool and good location but poor food and rooms

Unfortunately the hotel car park was full on arrival, so had to pay £21 to park on the road. One of my wing mirror's ( adjacent to the pavement) was deliberately smashed overnight. I did manage to park in the hotel car park on Saturday, however I will not risk coming back to the hotel again. The incident spoilt the weekend.

was nice had a good night, close to the beach staff welcoming and helped us with checking in. only thing was the shower didn’t have a lot of water pressure. overall good night away

Worst ever hotel, windows are stiff over 100 years old, the paint smell and the hallway smell of alcohol in reception was vulgar, the room over heating and no air conditioning, the tightness of room, the bathroom was absolutely vile, tight and the door was smelling with rotting mould at the bottom of it, the staff were so rude I felt sick walking past reception and the experience was of the worst in my life. Could not sleep uncomfortable bed and over heating room with the worst view. I would never set a foot in that vile place ever again in my whole life! Absolutely disgusting!

Room was terrible, would never stay here again. Staff were not pleasant. Place was dirty, dusty and noisy. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Lovely staff and great location on the beach. Room was a bit stuffy and even with windows open, could not get a comfortable nights sleep. Pillows could do with being a bit more supportive. Very flat with little support.

For a 3 star hotel I was very happy with my stay the room was clean the staff were friendly and accommodating I have recommended it to my friends and I will be returning myself, the view from the bedroom was gorgeous
