"Great location …. Great pub …. Bathroom horrid"

We stayed at The Mitre as a family of 4. The location of the place is fantastic. Right next to the Cathedral with lovely views. We had a few drinks in the bar area and we would definitely return to the pub again for a drink. I would however not return to this hotel due to the condition of the bathroom. For the price I paid I wasn’t expecting The Ritz, but the toilet and shower room were just abysmal. It was very hot in the room, but this is not the fault of the hotel as they had provided a fan for us. The breakfast was also not a pleasant experience with one lady serving everyone, completely rushed off her feet. I don’t want to write a negative review as the pub was a great place, but sadly the bathroom in our room was just shocking.

"Overall good choice if you need city center."

Location is excellent, right in the citty center. My room was on the top floor, it was not lowd, although there is a bar below the hotel. Room was ok, TV and wifi worked fine. Water pressure was not excellent, but they had put on a warning about that. Floors are uneaven, and stairs are steep, but that is to be expected in an old building. So overall good choice for me as my main aim was to stay in the city center.

Bed was too soft. Thats the only thing. Room had a bit of "aroma/smell "" to it, but that dissapeared soon when the room was used. Would be nice to have chairs instead of an ironing board.
