BlueBay Lanzarote

We went for a short break with Jet2 to get a few days away from work and the rain back home. We got exactly what we paid for. Our stay was good value for money. Our roll was spacious complete with fridge, kettle and tea and coffee. The food was reasonable, there was an excellent choice and you served yourself. I enjoyed the local dishes. My only real complaint was that the hot breakfasts were not hot (but there are microwaves). The restaurant’s hours were also very reasonable. The hotel is showing its age but that is reflected in the price you pay. If you wish to eat out, the centre of Costa Teguise is a 10-15 minute walk or a €4 taxi ride where you’ll find plenty of affordable restaurants with a range of cuisines. The most impressive thing about BlueBay are the staff. Rarely do you meet such nice, helpful people who take a pride in their work - which is looking after their guests. Keeping a team so well motivated says a great deal about the quality of the hotel’s senior management.

Just returned back from bluebay Lanzarote, again! The first time we booked, I was quite anxious because of the negative reviews, but it exceeded my expectations! This was my second time visiting this hotel, and have another booking for a few months time. There’s not one area I can complain about, the rooms are standard, clean and tidy. They are cleaned every day. There was a big variety of food and drinks, I wish I took photos! Food was served pretty much all day every day. The entertainment again was great, for adults and kids! There was games for me and my little one, and prizes! My main reason for the review is to praise the staff, the reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff, pool staff, cleaning staff, they were all absolutely lovely, so friendly. The atmosphere was so lovely, they all made such a fuss over my little one which made her feel comfortable at the hotel. Each and every staff member were lovely. I wish I took more photos to share on the review, but here’s me in the pool and with the mascots✌🏼 The location of the hotel was walking distance to the beech and bars, and local park. We definitely received the service we paid for, and it was most definitely worth the money.

Just returned from bluebay .. I was a bit concerned before going given some of the reviews.. yes hotel is in need of a refurb inside .. but rooms very clean .. no lifts which could be an issue for some .. we had a lovely room overlooking the pool .. cleaned every day bar one .. beds comfy .. food was good for a 3 star plenty of choice and always a lovely welcome from the restaurant staff especially the lady who who greeted us at the door and always asked if we we were enjoying our stay .. pool area lovely .. pool bar always well stocked and food on the go all day .. entertainment team workers hard day and night and was entertainment for all ages .. some of the sun loungers were old and dirty but we always picked out 2 new ones .. overall you have to remember this is a 3 star hotel and you get what you pay for .. would return

I went with my daughter and granddaughter age 3 we had a fantastic time, food was great all way something to eat, staff were fantastic ALL OF THEM. Love love love this hotel

Great location, 10-15 minute stroll to the beach or to the local shops. Is it worth the experience? No. Spent a week here, hotel staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for your. Communal areas, clean and tidy with regular rounds to keep flies etc down. Pool entertainment was ok. We didn't participate as not our cup of tea but lots of people enjoyed it and it wasn't intrusive to those who didn't want to participate. Atmosphere, friendly and attentive. Can't complain Noise wasn't too bad, we had a pool facing room and with the doors closed didn't hear much. Rooms... Not sure where to start, we had a room with sofa bed, bed and kitchenette, desperate double bedroom and bathroom and balcony on the second floor. There was allot of tiny ants that we noticed on the first day. It smelled clean and you could smell the cleaning solution. However... Day 2 -7 we were constantly inundated with cockroaches. I expected 1 or 2 but this was traumatic. We slept with the lights on to try and reduce them showing but (didn't work). I was constantly on edge. We reported to reception who 'dealt' which the one we reported but when we went back there was another.. and another. Cleaned daily, often woke around 9 by the cleaner (considering we had very little sleep due to the cockroaches) this was exhausting. Towels changed once, although they do tell you they are changed every 3 days. No cleaning on Wednesdays. Our balcony was never cleaned and there was dead cockroaches left. My husband had food poisoning or some gastric infection, not sure if this was due to undercooked meat or small children getting their own food and not being hygienic which just made things worse. We booked this reading some negative and positive reviews and though 'some peoples expectations are ridiculous for what they pay, it'll be fine'. I wish we had booked something else. It was the worst holiday we have had, weighing everything up. I had anxiety unpacking our cases incase I'd packed and unwanted room mate. Thankfully I hadn't. I would like to reiterate, the staff were one of the nicest staff we've encountered and the roaches are not their fault and they attended and dealt with the ones we reported but there was always one more...

We had a great time at Bluebay. It's 10 years since we were last at the hotel and it hasn't changed a bit. Our apartment was clean, tidy and spacious. Yes, we had a few ants but nothing my can of Raid couldn't sort out. The restaurant staff are warm and welcoming and it's lovely to be seated by the staff at a table which is ready for you rather than fending for yourself. The food was plentiful and varied and we always found something lovely to eat. Drinks were also good. My only (very slight) criticism would be the area where the coffee and juices are could be arranged better as it got very congested in the mornings. The entertainment was better than other places we've been to recently. We especially enjoyed the "You Bet" night and the singers. The entertainers were good fun and we really enjoyed the Mojito Making Class one afternoon. The pool area was clean and tidy too. We hope to be back soon!

Fantastic stay at the BlueBay Lanzarote. The location of the hotel is great, just a 20-30 minute transfer from Lanzarote airport. There are numerous bars and restaurants/cafes in the area as well as a supermarket. The beach (Playa Bastian) is about a 10 minute walk away and the main part of Costa Teguise is about a 15 minute walk away. The bus stop to get around the island (Playa Bastian bus stop) is on the road that runs just behind the hotel. From here we got the bus to Teguise town for the Sunday market and a trip to Arrecife for the day. Very reasonably priced and a pretty regular service that operates (every 20 minutes or less). Just be mindful that the buses are heavily used and you may not got on the first bus that comes. Our apartment was functional and had everything we needed- the hotel accommodated our special request ground floor room due to us travelling with a toddler. Rooms were cleaned frequently and we never saw one insect during our stay. Previous reviewers have spoken about the apartments being dated- we did have the odd chip in some of the furniture for example but this really didn’t impact our stay. As we were travelling with our toddler, most days were spent by the pool. There is a large main pool along with the children’s pool. We never struggled to get a lounger and yes the water was a little cold but you soon got used to it. Certainly wasn’t cold enough to stop us using either pool. On to the food and drink- there was always plenty of choice at mealtimes and the menu was changed daily to variety. We never struggled to get something enjoyable to eat and my wife is a self proclaimed fussy eater. Drink is mainly self service unless you are wanting cocktails/spirits. We particularly liked that you were allocated a table at each meal service, instead of having to search for a table. We can’t comment too much on the entertainment as we only really used to go for the first hour before our child wanted to go to bed. The entertainment team were fantastic thought from what we saw. They really interacted with the children and put on a good show. The staff in general were great- very friendly and welcoming. They worked very hard to make sure everyone had an enjoyable stay. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We paid very good price and definetly got our moneys worth’s. Would recommend? Definetly. Would we return? We hope so.

We just had 10 night at this hotel, definitely would recommend, the food is good, breakfast has a cooking station with fresh made pancakes and fried eggs, with lots of cereal, fresh fruit and fried options, lots of meat and fish options for lunch and dinner with salad and vegetables, cakes and pastries. the staff are all wonderful, polite and very hard working, the gardens are kept immaculate and are beautiful. the rooms are cleaned every day except Wednesday and are comfortable with every thing you could need. i would totally recommended this hotel and ignore the negative reviews, this a good value for the money that you pay, It was also my birthday when we where there and came back to a lovely card from the hotel in our room, which was a lovely touch, thank you.

Great price/quality ratio. Excellent location. People working at this Hotel so professional. 5 stars!

Came back on the 7th of February Our 3rd visit in 5 months Place seems to be getting better each visit Couldn’t leave a review last time as too shorter gap between the last trip Staff great Location. Good 10 min walk to town centre and beach Food was always decent but seems to be getting better Apartments. Dated but fine No issues either with bugs really apart from ants and there was some spray which kept them away for most of the week I don’t get people complaining about bugs,your in a different climate Entertainment can’t really say as it didn’t interest me. Will be going again but probably next year Take the bad reviews with a pinch of salt It’s a 3star it’s value for money
