ICONA Avalon

We have stayed at this hotel in the past with a good experience. However, in reserving two rooms for Memorial Day weekend 2026, our booking experience was not good. The $100.00 cancellation fee is charged even though we cancelled today for a reservation at the end of May. Well before 30 days and the rooms will book anyway. We had planned to stay at the Icona Spring Lake this Summer, however, we will stay at other Spring Lake Inns.

Stayed at the Icona Avalon as a quick get away 3/16 to 3/18/26 with my wife. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained, During our trip the main lobby was in the mist of remodeling and they were building a new coffee lounge. Our room (310) was in the east wing with a beach view from the third floor. Unfortunately it was raining heavy our first day but we enjoyed the view the next 2. Everything about room was top notch. The front desk staff was super friendly at check in and throughout with any questions we had. We have stayed at Icona Diamond Beach before but will certainly add this to our list. We went during the off season in February. We had a room with beautiful view of the ocean. The place was clean, the room was comfortable and (I can't emphasize this enough) the staff was wonderful. Every person was helpful and seemed genuinely kind and happy to be there. Because it was the off season, I wasn't expecting much to be available, but we had great meals at the hotel and in Avalon. Their fitness room was open all of the time (but the lowest weights were 10lbs . Bring in the 5lbs please). They had the fire going in the fireplace in the lobby. My husband and I played some games there when we wanted a change of scenery. (We brought the games, I don't know if they had any). We took nice walks on the beach. It was an easy walk into Stone Harbor. We had never gone to an ICONA resort. We won this in a fundraiser raffle or I never would have thought to go. I liked the kitchenette, so we could put some fruit in the fridge. I was really appreciative of the late check out. Little perks like that for the off season, was really appreciated. It ended up being a quiet and rejuvenating getaway. I have already started to tell my friends what a wonderful and peaceful time that we had.

We stayed at the Icona in Avalon over Valentine’s Day weekend, which was also my husband’s birthday. It was the best trip we could have asked for. The room was beautiful with a beach view. The hotel was warm and inviting. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, especially Keith the manager, who went out of his way to make sure our stay was amazing. We had a delicious breakfast in the Avalon Brew Pub and enjoyed the Valentine’s Day dinner at the hotel on Saturday. Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful. We can’t wait to return again, both for a couple’s winter getaway as well as a family summer trip. I highly recommend this hotel any time of year.

Staff was friendly and attentive

Icona Avalon never disappoints, even in the off‑season. We just wrapped up our fifth MLK weekend there, and it was the perfect way to unwind after the holiday rush. Between catching the playoff football games, getting some reading in, and relaxing by the lobby fireplace after strolling through Stone Harbor and Cape May, it was exactly the reset we needed. Keith, Brian, and their team had everything ready to go when we arrived, and it’s always such a pleasure to see Kerrianne at the front desk. She’s so friendly and thoughtful, and she always makes sure our stay starts off on the right foot. We also love spending time at the Brew Pub, and Sue takes great care of us every single visit. The food, the atmosphere, the service—everything was spot‑on. Already excited for our next stay at Icona Avalon.

We have been staying at Icona Avalon when it started its transition from The Golden Inn. Resort is beautiful, clean, with an attentive staff. Rooms are airy and bright. Kitchen well stocked, beds feel like clouds! Every year feels like our first time! One constant is Pasquale at Shimmers Bistro. He starts my day with an excellent coffee and friendly conversation! Start your morning with him!

His service turned a great vacation into a truly exceptional one. The Icona Avalon is beautiful on its own — pristine, elegant, and relaxing — but it’s people like Pasquale who make it shine.
