ICONA Avalon

Stayed 4 th of July weekend. Paid well above normal price, over 800 a night with resort fee and taxes. Couldn’t even control thermostat set at 67, which we as guests were locked out, of the preferred 65, asked front desk about a fan or other options, did not give a care, no help whatsoever, no fans no advice on how to cool . Woke up 4 times during the night sweating because ac was not cooling, literally no air flow whatsoever. During the day ac works fine. Woman at front desk told me most hotels set to 70, I travel 2 or more times a month at the least and never encountered this lock out. I should be able to control thermostat for the exaggerated price that they charge. After all, this is not a JW Marriott , Ritz Carlton or any name brand hotel. Not appreciated at all as a guest here!! Treated me like I never travelled anywhere and I travel for a living. Would not recommend. Spend your money in Europe where they appreciate and do everything in their power to accommodate you!! It may also cost you much less and more culturally enriching. Overrated and not worth the steep price point, especially for lack of customer service.

We had a great time at the ICONA Avalon. However, the soft check in was horrible. It took Sarah 40 minutes to check us in and while she was doing that, she left the counter 3 times and did not say a word as to where she was going or what she needed to do. In the past the check in was only 10 minutes and everything went smoothly but this time it was disgraceful. She was not friendly and we could not hear a word she was saying. Finally, after 40 minutes, we had our "soft check in". Then when the room was ready, we had to return to Sarah, since nobody else was at the counter, and she was still very slow. She was not having a good day.

Great location and staff! Pasquale at the coffee bar and Carrie Ann at the front desk go out of their way to make our stay worth it every year. This is our tenth annual girls weekend and we look forward to our stay. One improvement we would like to see is updated room amenities.

Had our daughter's wedding here Memorial Day weekend 2025. First let me say Kaitlyn and Courtney were absolutely AMAZING from the day we met in March of 2024! My daughter emphasized that her venue choice must not only fit the needs and be beautiful but the people she had to work with were just as important. These 2 highly qualified and friendly women were just that. We looked at 10 different Cape May county venues. We signed with them the day we met! Every step over the next year + went so well. No issues, and great guidance! Day of wedding.. from the moment we pulled up 2 days before the day we were met with fun, kind, patient and helpful staff. From Valet to front desk and onward! Better yet was all of our guests were met with the same kindness! Many remarked how wonderful the hotel staff was. Many guests travelled from very far and I am so happy that they got to see what the "Jersey Shore" really is like. The food, the drinks, the shuttle buses, the staff and of course the beautiful comfortable rooms all were amazing. Not to mention the location on the most amazing beach! We are still getting compliments on how beautiful and perfect everything was. Thank you everyone, but most importantly thank you to Kaitlyn and Courtney whom without their guidance and commitment to every detail (as an interior designer you can imagine I'm picky) my daughter's wedding would not have been as perfect as it was. After staying at Icona Cape May and then Avalon there is no comparison. The front desk attendant, Noah, went above and beyond with Customer Service. Nothing was too much for him. He was personable, communicative and kind. He represents your company with style and commitment. Please reward him. And Thank you. Hope to return soon

Our son had a basketball tournament at the shore, so several of the families decided to stay at the Icona to make it into a short vacation. The rooms and the overall property were beautiful and clean. Also, the service was incredible from front desk, to bartenders, to servers. Each morning, we started our day with a great cup of coffee and an even better conversation with Pasqualle at the coffee shop in the main lobby. Based on the experience, we’re going to plan a longer stay for later in the summer.

Five Stars - as usual. Really nothing to criticize, except perhaps the weather. Exceptionally friendly experience with PASQUALE, the main lobby AM Barista. This guy is straight outta central casting from GOODFELLOWS! LOL Super friendly and seems to have experiences in common with EVERYONE. Great eye-opening early morning encounters.

We recently attended Avalon Icona for our daughter’s wedding. Five stars across the board. The event staff were excellent to deal with. Professional, prompt with responses to our many questions. The desk staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was spotless and the food at the restaurants on sight was excellent. If you attend make sure you stop for a coffee at the Starbucks onsite. You will be greeted by Pasquale. He is like your friendly Italian uncle. He makes you feel as if you have known him for years. Our stay was outstanding and we will be back.
