Metro Hotel and Cafe

Very unique, lovingly and thoughtfully restored old building. Sound insulation not good but customers are nice and quiet. Office is closed 11am to 3 pm. Wish they can figure out a way of checking in on line and depositing luggage inside before 3 pm.

It was a very unique facility. We chose it primarily for the location, however, did not expect it to be a restored historical building. The listing was a bit deceiving. It felt more like an Airbnb, especially when we got escorted to our room.

It didn't have all the normal commodities of a normal hotel. We did not appreciate being told we would be charged for simple things provided in the room, like coffee. There was no temperature control in the room, and the restroom/shower arrangement was very strange. In lieu of a breakfast or even free coffee, they offered some kind of French crepe breakfast at their Cafe for $10. We chose to go across the street instead and get a 'normal' breakfast for a more reasonable price. Also, onsite parking was primitive and very limited. We were on motorcycles, so we struggled coming in and out on the loose gravel.

I love love love the Metro hotel This was the first time I stayed in one of the air strings, and I have to say, as fun as it initially was an excited I was to stay there, when we got back the smell from the toilet/plumbing was so bad I could barely sleep. And we couldn’t open the window so we had to sleep with the door open, which felt a little odd. But I would definitely go back. I just wouldn’t stay in one of the air streams.

The vibe of the whole establishment is Continental. The furniture, art and breakfast carried a sense of a European café. It was all fun.

We always enjoy our time at the Metro Hotel in Petaluma. This place is different than any other we have stayed at, and is an experience unto itself. From the Goose lamp, clawfoot tub/shower and whimsical French decor in the rooms to the breakfast crepes and Petanque courts (essentially French bocce ball), you get to put yourself on a more European pace for a while. And now they have a chicken coop with three hens on the property!! If you can live with a few quirks such as the small-size rooms, it is sure to put a smile on your face.

Old boarding house lovingly renovated in quirky French style. Public areas to include Bocce courts and fire pits invite conversation. Easy walk to downtown shopping and dining.

Eclectic setup and the quality of the hotel and the rooms. Facilities were great as well and the breakfast was spot on.

Walls a little thin so noise carried but that is what comes with a house refurb, didn’t impact our stay

Stayed in an airstream. Walked to town for dinner and a wine bar. The breakfast cafe is more French than France. … a memorable experience!
