Carter House Inns

I just want to say what an amazing location and the experience was perfect. Kat (or Cat) did a great job in checking me in and also your wonderful bartender as he was full of knowledge and we shared the same taste in drinks. You had one of the most impressive wine lists along with a very well procured Bourbon/Tequilla/Gin selection. I know that I will be bringing my wife and kids up sometime this summer as we want to stay there again and this time try the dinner! Anyway keep up the great work!

Nice room, good ambiance, great service, convenient location, very attentive. Stayed to run Avenue of the Giants half marathon - the staff even brought a fridge to the room with pre-race breakfast snacks so we would have something to eat when we left at 5am.

Very much Jeckle & Hyde between public areas & bedroom. If bedroom had been same as bar & restaurant it would have been 5 stars review. Unfortunately it was not the case, poorly cleaned & prepared room, hair grip from previous occupant left on carpet, radiator cover hanging off, and cigar burn on carpet (flooring was carpet squares so not swapping that out is just lack of attention to detail). The bed was lumpy & squeaky, the curtains hardly covered the windows so lots of light pollution led to poor night's sleep. Finally, bath was chipped & stained. If in town again i could be tempted to bar or restaurant but i will stay elsewhere! If the bedroom

While the ratings say this is a 3-star lodging, it felt like a 5-star experience to me and my husband! There is attention to EVERY detail from the service to the linens to the incredible included breakfast. The staff was great! Shoutout for the Restaurant 301 as well. Amazing tasting menu and food.

Great location, restaurant and bar were wonderful- a highlight for our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The building itself is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our visit. Our room was spotless, with a very comfortable bed that made for a great night's sleep. The included breakfast was excellent—they even had a special gluten-free treat for me each morning. There was also plenty of coffee and tea available, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely stay here again.

This inn was quaint & charming at one end of Old Town. The room was cozy, plush robes were provided as well as a basket of local goodies to indulge in if you chose. Complementary breakfast with a nice array of options was also a plus! I originally gave 4-star due to lack of an in-room fridge, which would have been helpful for medication storage. After mentioning this on a one-to-one with the hotel, I received an immediate message from the GM informing me that one could have been provided had they known, which I appreciated. This I gave a 5-star review here. I would definitely stay there again.

Property was nice with a bar & restaurant on site. Room was pretty but the bed was very firm. Also we didn't realize there was not a refrigerator in the room. I will say the staff made our stay enjoyable. Very helpful and friendly staff! We would stay here again.
