Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant

This is an historic Inn in a lovely setting. The room was quaint. The public areas are spacious and evoke another period in time. Definitely no cookie-cutter.

The room and bathroom were small. Breakfast was minimal.

Very accommodating. Asked at the last minute to change to a room on the main floor at the last minute, no problem and with no upgrade charge!

Miss the warm breakfast. Sure hope it comes back

We love going there but we were a little disappointed that they did not have the sit down breakfast like in the past. Glad to here they will be doing some updates in the future

I liked the Delicious food, great staff, affordable prices, amazing location, historic architecture, and water views of Traverse Bay from the spectacular covered veranda.

Found this place online and with the 25% off midweek deal cemented my interest in a one night two day ski trip March 4-5, 2026. Spoke to Dick on the phone who confirmed the pricing and details on whirlpool suite 100 on the first floor. The ceiling is probably 11-12 feet as I am 6’8”and appreciate the unusual historic space. Very tall windows into the downward grade to bay view in bedroom and bath. One of the largest bathrooms I’ve ever seen. Two sinks and a two person shower. Honeymoon suite? Small kitchenette with micro , sink and fridge. Large whirlpool tub we actually didn’t use. Nice electric fireplace. Ceiling fan. Now really the only negative which was a big one, the bed. Sank and sagged horribly. I did speak with the cleaning lady and she admitted it needed replacement. The poster bed framing is questionable in my opinion for two larger people but very comfy pillows and sheets, too bad about mattress. Others have commented some kings needed a portable step to get up on bed( I would love to have had one!) but this was a low rider. Between Dick who was there 7 pm and 8:30 am and our cleaning lady and absolutely fantastic ground fresh coffee who excites the wife we still have five star rating. We were only ones in 1911 room for minimal muffin yogurt continental breakfast.

Historical, quaint place with a great staff! The type of guests provides a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. This year, they changed from breakfast to coffee, muffins, banana, oranges so if you like any protein, you have to travel to a restaurant in town. A game changer for us.

The Historic charm of this hotel is truly wonderful. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. Beautiful updated linens. Tranquil views of the Bay View Community from every window. Close to fabulous shopping and restaurants in Downtown Petoskey and Harbor Springs. This 10 day trip I am downhill skiing at Nubs Nob. Some of the best skiing in the Midwest!

This is a charming historic hotel in a great location. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if small, but it is historic. Staff is friendly.

The included breakfast was uninspired and disappointing. Grocery store pastry served in the grocery store box with tired fruit and sad accompaniments. They could at least put the muffins on a serving platter and having some decent fruit. I’ve stayed here several times and in the past they served a wonderful hot breakfast. Not anymore more.
