"Pleasant enough experience but hotel could do with modernising"

Location and facilities

Food was generally good but felt the racking lamb wasn’t a rack as such but 2 lamp chips leaning against each others! . Sri Lanka curry very watery . Chocolate dessert very dry and not a patch like it was described on the menu. Bedrooms very dated !

"We liked the spa. All the staff were excellent especially the chefs, we were very impressed with the food."

Excellent food in the restaurant on both evenings . The waiting staff exceptionally good (Alecia) but all waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and well informed. Great selection of spirits and draft beers.

No air conditioning in room 146 but we did get the fan straight away after we asked for one. Not enough sockets near headboard end of the bed only nest the TV table. Hot tub around the outside needs attention with grouting.

"Premises and staff were excellent, pity about the car parking situation."

Clean, and well furnished

Very disappointed with being charged for parking if you arrive early. We had come down to visit the NEC and arrived before the 2 pm booking in time and was charged just over £5.00. If we had arrived at 2pm then we would have missed most of the day. We have never had this problem before and have used this hotel on numerous occassions and also recommended to friends and family. Bearing in mind we where staying overnight with the hotel the essence of hospitality has been lost and has left a sour note, I will also relay this situation to our family and friends.

Spacious lovely room( Tatinger) like having a bath and shower option Nice bar and restaurant. Excellent evening menu and presentation. Best mushroom risotto I’ve ever had . Staff very attentive in restaurant. Room nicely serviced

Not enough charging points for cars and very tight in spaces in that area
