Disappointing stay with multiple issues from start to finish I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my overnight stay was disappointing from the moment I arrived. The hotel advertises parking, however the car park was effectively full due to a wedding taking place. I was advised to “park on a grass verge”, which wasn’t a suitable option, especially as there were kerbs and rocks. I eventually had to wait for another guest to leave before I could park properly. After checking into my room, I found the shower had extremely poor water pressure and the temperature control was broken, making it unusable. Reception did move me to another room, but this was around 10 pm, meaning I had to pack everything up and move late at night. Unfortunately, the replacement room also had problems. The sink plug was completely jammed, so the basin filled with water and couldn’t be used properly. By that point I didn’t want to move rooms again or have maintenance coming to the room so late, so I just had to put up with it. As a 22-year-old woman travelling alone, repeatedly moving rooms late at night wasn’t an experience I expected and left me feeling quite uncomfortable. The response at checkout was also disappointing. Although I was eventually offered a £25 refund on a £75 stay, I didn’t feel my concerns were taken particularly seriously. When I explained that the sink plug was jammed, I was asked whether I’d tried pushing it, despite it clearly being stuck. One final point: I ordered what was listed as a Diet Coke in the bar, but it wasn’t Coca-Cola. If you’re serving a different cola or a post-mix alternative, it would be better to make that clear on the menu. Individually, these issues may have been manageable, but together they resulted in a stay that fell well below my expectations. I hope the hotel improves its room maintenance and communication with guests, as the location is excellent, but unfortunately my experience means I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Ideally located for the BP Pulse Live arena, 5 minute walk. Free parking and easy to get to. Has a spa and pool (we didn't use them as there for a gig) team friendly food good. Only downside was no aircon in the room (hottest day of the year, red weather warning, wouldn't be an issue normally!) and our room was above the function room so it was a bit loud. Overall clean, great location, nice food and bar, friendly team and great value for money. Would definitely stay again if going to the arena.

Really lovely hotel considering how cheap it was for the one night! Bed was very comfortable & a good size. Bathroom was clean & well maintained. Aircon was wonderful & so easy to upgrade to a bigger room with low prices! Perfect location for a gig!

I liked everything

The location was convenient and it had a lift.

I am a disabled customer. I have health issues, walk with a stick or use a wheelchair. I called the hotel before arriving as it was due to be hot, so they did put a fan in my room. However! I got to check in, obviously struggling with bags and walking stick, no help was offered and I was not pointed at the luggage trolleys they had available. I got to my room, the soap dispenser was broken and there was no info in the room about services, food, use of spa facilities etc. I turned on the tv as sometimes its on there. Blank screen which had a listing of 'hotel tv' or similar. I still had other bits to get from the car, so I spoke to reception and told them about the soap and the tv. I was expecting them to say they'd send someone up with some new soap, but instead they moved my room. To the opposite end of the hotel. Again, me struggling with mobility, I was just given the second room card and told to bring the old one back once i'd moved. No offer of help. No mention of borrowing a luggage trolley. I was given a paper copy of the menus. I had to move everything, including the mediocre fan, which took several trips and left me completely exhausted. The room was stupidly hot and stuffy and no thought had been given to how to make them comfortable during the heat wave (it was 37 degrees the day I left). Please look after your disabled customers. Offer help! The only time I was offered help was at checkout when a different lady was on reception and saw me struggling, but by then it was too late.

Location is excellent for the BP Live arena,

No AC in the rooms and limited rooms available to upgrade. During the recent heatwave the room was like a furnace, walls and furniture hot to touch. No water in rooms, asked for some were told bottled water was for upgraded rooms..I’d argue they could have been provided given that it was 40 degrees in the room

Great for an overnight stay for an early flight. We enjoyed the pool.and had a meal in the bar, service great! Food, no complaints, simple and fitted our purposes!

The hotel is busy. Weddings, NEC concert stays and airport passengers stays. We were placed in room 102, noted as a family room. It's windows and view are directly on the back of the smoking lounge and outside area. A very odd place to place a family, especially as its air conditioning is not updated which meant we weren't able to open the windows due to tobacco and vape smoke. We left the hotel at 3.30am due to our flight time, however we were still awake at midnight and had to complain to reception about other visitors being loud and playing speakers in the outside area. The reception staff were fantastic and sorted it, but needless to say, the purpose of staying near the airport was more sleep more not less.

Room was spacious, bed was confortabke and AC worked well. Bathroom was large and clean, shower was lovely. Enjoyed breakfast, would stay again, wedding buffet evening reception was very nice

Not sure where you would park if the car park is full, that is the only negative

Located near Birmingham international (10min walk) and staff available for late check in (after 11pm)

There is no aircon or fan offered and we stayed on one of the hottest days- the room was boiling. You could hear very clearly anything said in the corridor so sound proofing is non existent. Having to pay £50 deposit seemed excessive

Area, people, bar, swimming pool, food

No aircon in room, no fan provided and windows don't open more than a inch for safety- extremely hot inside

The hotel was ideally located for the BP Pulse which was a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately there was no air con in our room and no fan. We were made aware of this before we arrived so brought our own which we were allowed to use .
