"3.5 / 5 Great for kids….not so much for the adults"

8.0

Please give the review a like if you find it useful…I’ve 200,000 read reviews, so smash a like if beneficial! This hotel was a pick by the Mrs and specifically based on a fair priced family of 5 holiday to Turkey. I’ll do a quick pro’s and cons and round it up. PRO’S Great for family’s - room size for a family of 5 with the double room, great. Pools were good, warm and clean with loads of Activities for the little ones and relaxing enough for the adults. We loved all three pools and moved around as the day moved on to get out the mid-day sun. Plenty of sun-loungers, some people moan on here that they are coming down late and not getting one, we saw loads free everyday (although we booked cabanas all week, mainly for a base for the kids to retreat to out the sun) All staff we found very helpful and full of smiles. Food - considering the hotel runs a buffet style service, the quality and range was excellent. (I’m talking mainly main tea) The traditional Turkish food is right up my street but all the other options were great and the Turkish pied ..unreal! Breakfasts and dinners also all good. Communal spaces - All very clean and well managed. Entertainment - the kids club at night, very short but our 3 absolutely loved it. Big shout out to the tall pirate guy, who gave it everything when on stage! (But all the entertainment crew are excellent) Cabana’s - We booked different ones all week…really good space to relax and sunbathe and it comes with some ‘table service’ and wine and fruit in the afternoon. We found the beds at 4 and 8 the best…we did 20 which was out the way and in the shade a touch. There is a small area for animals on site and a large and small football pitch…me and the little man enjoyed taking a walk round before the evening meal. CON’S Sleep quality - Awful, sorry to say, beds really hard, creaky and bedsheets like towels. We both slept awfully. Rooms - spacious but dated in areas…the hotel rooms do not take into account the ‘adult time’ as in, when the kids are asleep, there is no balcony space to sit out with a drink and take the holiday in…once the kids are down, your also down (as we had a child in our room also) Our room was in the park area. Drink quality - Unless you like beer, you’re knackered. The general quality of cocktails and drinks is very poor…some bars the drinks (mixers) are from bottles and warm…the ones on draft tend to be ‘better’ but generally…it’s a shame the quality is poor. Restaurants- Main restaurants, if your a family you need to get down early to get a table (in the air-con) the hotel needs to work on making sure couples don’t sit on tables of 4/5 which should be reserved for families…I mean, what couple has the cheek to sit on a family table of 4 when your a couple? When the restaurant gets busy, it’s also very ‘wacky races’ and getting your own drinks when on evening meals, is annoying on holiday. The ‘Camera guy’ As a photographer myself…charging people £10 an image and then putting them in ‘pirates of the Caribbean portfolio from 2010’ isn’t on…I asked the guys how much for just an emailed version of the images…same price? Makes absolutely no sense? As a marketing tool…offer the customers a bundle of 10 images for £30 via email and you’ll shift twice the volume because double the people will buy them..so you’ll lose no revenue, but gain more exposure….come on marketing team! I paid £70 for 6 images but would have been happy to walk away had it not been for the kids wanting them! Midge’s - It’s not like there is loads, but you’ll 100% get bitten and the bites are harsh…so bring some good repellents. The ‘al la cart’ restaurants are good…we only tried the seafood one closest to the beach….really nice. Price point….due to a last minute date change (due to work commitments) we had booked Liberty hotel not far from this one….but had to book here due to those date changes….liberty was only £500 more for the week. I think this is a ‘pricey hotel’ for what it offers…we enjoyed the fact that the kids loved it here and had great experiences, so we are grateful for that! If we got this hotel in the off season at 3k a week…I’d be happy, but 6k for the week, I expect much more from an adult point of view (which I believe would have been met at Liberty)

"Finally Found My Exception – Club Tuana!"

10.0

I travelled with my husband and our 8-year-old son, and we had a fantastic stay at Club Tuana – loved every minute! We stayed in a Lagoon room with pool access via stairs, which worked brilliantly for us. The room size was great for the three of us, and instead of a sofa bed, our son had the luxury of a proper single bed – a big plus for families. The balance of shade and sun throughout the day was ideal, and the Lagoon Lounge was an added bonus, offering a quieter, more relaxed vibe – it really felt like two holidays in one. Service there was always fabulous – a special shout-out to Talep and Melise who looked after us so well during the day. The cocktails, both from the menu and off-menu creations, were amazing! The resort itself is stunning, surrounded by greenery and beautifully maintained. Staff work incredibly hard to keep everything spotlessly clean. The main pool was busier, but that’s to be expected and it balances out nicely with the calm Lagoon area. Food and drink were excellent throughout. The snack bar serves a great selection during the day – from late breakfast to burgers and chips, which was perfect for our son and those fussier eaters. Ice cream and pancakes were also served, but tucked away enough that it was never too busy. The main restaurant always had plenty of choice with something to suit everyone. We also tried the à la carte Olive Tree restaurant, which was a real highlight – attentive service, a beautiful outdoor setting surrounded by trees, and an excellent set menu. The tenderloin was outstanding and the ambience made for a really special evening. Activities and entertainment were another highlight. My son loved the slides, the giant chess, and although he didn’t join the kids’ club, he really enjoyed the Kids Fest – a great addition we hadn’t expected. Evenings were full of atmosphere with great shows, and the sunset cruise from the jetty was absolutely fabulous – highly recommended. From the warm and informative welcome at reception to the very end, everything was spot on. Club Tuana gave us relaxation, fun, and wonderful family memories. Although there are so many places in the world to explore, I always say I’ll never go somewhere more than once – but Club Tuana has changed that rule. I’ve finally found my exception, and I look forward to visiting again one day!

"The hotel management need serious training in Customer Service skills !!!"

6.0

So this is a tricky review as the lack of service in one area of the hotel affects our view of the remainder of the hotel which on the whole is good ! So we are a family of five 3 adults and 2 children we requested adjoining/neighbouring rooms in the Lagoon area (exclusive and more expensive) when we checked in we discovered we were 4 rooms apart which doesn't sound too bad but for us it was a deal breaker - we would have gone somewhere else to get that facility. this was requested both by TUI on our behalf and directly with the hotel - at no point did they let us know they could not accommodate this request. I think what added insult to injury was we were dismissed rather flippantly, I was visibly upset but not raising my voice, I remained calm but upset. At no point did staff even apologise, or offer an explanation apart from they were full ! I am sure you make plans for your rooms and customer requests in advance to avoid such situations ! A couple of days later I went to Guest Relations to express my disappointment and to be honest I was met with the same attitude - we are full - once again no apology or even an ounce of empathy - I was so upset, the whole holiday was to be a shared experience with our grandchildren - we had an episode where we we could not get into our sons room and our granddaughter was locked out (age 7) it was horrendous seriously they would not let us gain entry the booking was in my name for 2 rooms side by side - what transpired was dreadful. So thank goodness for the lovely lovely staff who ran the bars in the Lagoon area they were charming, attentive, funny and we had the best service, the houskeeping staff were also amazing - clean rooms and bedding every day - the teams of folk serving in the restaurants were equally fabulous....they coped very well indeed with demanding customers, who insisted on being served at their tables ! I am sorry to say we shall not return - so the moral of the story is - if your trip goes smoothly then your are likely to have a great time but if you have any requests or you need anything from reception - you will be disappointed Last note - the hotel is very well equipped for Russian and German visitors - they are well represented by mother tongue staff in Reception and Guest Relations and even the entertainment staff speak Russian, German then English - It might help if they employed English speaking staff also.

"Rocky start but what a fantastic trip"

10.0

Was close to giving this hotel a 3 or 4* rating after a poor first night but after getting home from a 10 day holiday to club Tuana anything less than 5 wouldn’t be fair. My stay here got off to a bit of a rocky start. I had paid extra to stay in a deluxe room but on arrival was told that they didn’t have any deluxe rooms available and I would need to stay in a park room for the night and it would be sorted in the morning. After a very long day of travelling etc I think everything can seem a bit worse than what they are. The park room was very basic. There was a strong sewage smell and the room was just generally poor. The following day we were moved to our deluxe room and from then on everything about this hotel was amazing. I’m always a bit hesitant doing an all inclusive hotel as you’re not sure what the food and drink is going to be like but I couldn’t fault anything this hotel put out. We went out for a meal 1 night of the 10 and although the meal was perfectly fine it was still the worst meal of our holiday. Alcohol and soft drinks were all proper as well. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough for you. The entertainment team are all very friendly and do a fantastic job. The evening shows although they’re short everyone we watched was brilliant. They have a great kids club and kids disco every evening. There is also different restaurants that are all amazing although you do need to book into them. Highly recommend doing this especially for the Italian. The hotel has its own private beach which offers different water sports and boat trips. Honestly if you’re on the fence about staying at this hotel and are reading this please take it as a sign to absolutely book although my only tip would be to give the park rooms a miss.

"Enjoyable stay but avoid Park rooms if looking to book"

6.0

Just home from a 2 week holiday at Tuana. Positives & negatives... Negatives - Don't book the Park rooms at this hotel & expecta 5 star facility. The Park rooms are 3 star at very best. Rooms like something from the 70s...Its also about a 10min walk up to the main pool from this area. - The beds are rock hard, works for some... not for me. - Some of the staff at the bars/coffee station are so miserable. Never had this before at other hotels , ut sometimes its like you are insulting them asking for a drink. Positives -Drinks & food are good quality. Some branded spirits to choose from & the buffet restaurant has something for everyone. - Restaurants are all ok, nothing special but nice settings & good service. -hmet from the activities team is fantastic. Always smiling, always up for a chat & is a great asset for the hotel. - Lots to do for kids, pool area is great. Jetty is fantastic to spend a few hours up there & the water slides are great for the kids. Would i return? No, but we had a good holiday. We were ready for home after 10-11 days.

"Very dissapointing and NOT 5 star"

4.0

Honest review from returning home yesterday.... Firstly this is not a 5 star resort! If you are used to any form of 5 star luxury you will not find it here. You are not greeted on arrival, you are not provided with a warm welcome or welcome drink, none of your requests in advance will be given. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 child 9yrs, 1 baby 9 weeks) and also had our 2 friends with us in a seperate room. Our room was a club room which was spacious enough inside, however very worn in some places with broken floor tiles and a bit of wood screwed to the internal of the shower (guessing a poor repair) and what is failed to be mentioned is the size of the so called balcony (it has 1 chair and that is about all the space you get) if you are all staying in 1 room, it's worth noting this as there is nowhere to sit and chill while little ones fall asleep. Our friends had a room in the park side, understandably it is cheaper and we knew it would be somewhat dated. The room itself was fine with some minor issues as to be expected, however it wasn't until 3 days into the holiday when one of our friends switched on the light above the mirror in the bathroom to be showered in electrical sparks before the power for the entire building being blown. This is totally unacceptable, after a few debates with reception the room was changed (albeit to another room on the park side) I would of thought they could of at least offered some sort of upgrade to the room but it appears that nothing can be done by the reception staff without the say so of the manager. We were offered a 'complementary ' pavilion which we had booked in our room number by mistake instead of theirs and on check out they were still trying to charge us the €60 instead of just moving the charge to the other room. We ended up walking out of the hotel and leaving them to it. In regards to food, the buffet was actually pretty good but very very repetitive, the breakfast is the same every morning, if you wanted omelette it is not cooked fresh for you (as you would expect at a 5 star resort) it is cooked in mass on a hot plate the rolled up and kept 'warm' the fried eggs come complete with bits of shell and broken yolks if that's how you like them 😋 The snacks in the day again were repetitive with burgers, Onion rings, chips, salad, pizza and usually chicken or lamb doner, however it was very good and always fresh. We had our lunch from here most days as opposed to the buffet. I have to say the lamb doner is so much better than at home. I did find it very strange how you could get food here with no clothes on so bodily hair in food was one of the risks you take. Again not the standards I expect from a 5 star resort. Now onto the A La Cartes.... firstly this is a lie.... you do not get to order what you want, you are served a set menu, nothing can be changed, it is what it is. Watch out at pergolas because the 'salmon roll' was served still frozen inside which was so dangerous and the the lamb chops are not what you expect. They come incinerated and coated in burnt breadcrumbs. We also tried the Olive Tree and the meat was so fatty there was nothing tender about the beef tenderloin. We gave up on the a la carte restaurants after these 2 experiences and found the buffet to be better. Again this is not what you would expect from a 5 star. Sun bed wars!! Yes it does exist, those that say its fine are lying. In order to get a sunbed round the pool you had to be up around 6am to put your towel out but be prepared for people having to squeeze down past your sunbed to get to the pool. We were happy with the 1st row back on the grass but again, in order to get these ones we still had to be up having coffee around 6.45/7am. Towels are not removed after s certain amount of time either. However at this resort you have 2 choices either do nothing or if you can't beat them, sadly you have to join them. Drink selection was plentiful to a degree however the cocktails were the worst I have ever had at a 5 star resort. To the point in order to get a proper espresso martini I went to the pool bar for the espresso and took it over to the beach bar and told them how to make the espresso martini on day 5! A mojito is supposed to be made with lime but here they use lemon! Pina coladas are not blended ice!!! Actually there are no blended ice drinks. Some staff measure the spirits and some pour it in making it actually undrinkable!! These was so much inconsistency here, oh and you basically had to tip everyone before your drinks in order to get a decent service and what you actually ask for. One example was our first morning at the resort and I went to get my wife and I coffee, I took our reusable cups and asked for cappuccinos in these to be told 'no it will take too long' I explained i didn't want them full, the barman still did not want to do it but once I placed a tip in his hand nothing was a problem. Usually I like to tip each time for the service I receive but it seems you must tip first here the receive the service. On a positive note, the pool was amazing and clean and very warm, the beach was lovely and the sea was perfectly still in the mornings. Would I return to this hotel - NEVER Is it a 5 star hotel - NOT AT ALL What rating would you give the hotel - mediocre 4 star purely for the facilities and selection of spirits Did you enjoy your holiday - yes and created some wonderful memories amongst ourselves given the circumstances Would you recommend this hotel to your friends and family - NO How about your least favourite person - NO not even them lol What did you enjoy the most - Our boat trip with Gemo Boat and being transported around by Tunay Ekinci Tunay did our private transfer to and from the airport, a daytime to Dalyan and the turtle sanctuary and also our morning out to Fethiye for the market. He is very highly recommended and the best prices out of everyone I spoke to prior to coming. Gemo boat did us a private all day boat trip from Fethiye and organised the transfers in the price. We stopped at 4 different swimming stops and treated with an exceptional lunch and drinks with 3 crew on board. They were amazing so if you are looking for transport or a great day out please speak to either of these. Apologies for the the lovers out there of this resort and the hate mail I am likely to get but this is all based on my experience here and the luxuries of the world I have experienced so far Please if you are unsure about booking this hotel DON'T DO IT!! Go elsewhere unless you are happy with subject standard and a fake 5 star!!

"Great place for Kids"

10.0

This place is fab for kids, we took our 6 year old and both the big and small pool are close together and it felt safe, plenty of slides, the kids club is amazing, its free and i cant speak highly enough how good they are with the kids, you dont tend to worry about them because if they take them outdoors they always find a shade for them to play in, the kids/ adults entertainment are superb, however a little let down the kids T Shirt thing goes on for way too long, the kids just want to get on the stage and dance, they dont want to sit and watch one kid go up at a time to collect a shirt, the rooms are basic but clean which is good, and the cleaners do a good job, every day, they left our balcony door open from time to time so watch out for that, most of the staff are polite but you do get a few bitchy ones around the swim pool, you sometimes feel like a pest asking for a drink. the food is lovley but expect to get your own cutlery / drinks also, the beach is pebbly but it was lovely sitting on the seats around there and the cocktail bar near there is fab, all in all it was fab and we will be revisiting in June

"A great family holiday"

8.0

Just returned from a weeks stay at this fantastic hotel. We were a family of 10 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We stayed at parkside which are the more basic rooms. The rooms were fine. Yes, furniture is old fashioned and yes mattresses are hard (but I find this to be the case in most Turkish hotels); we had plenty of storage, air conditioning was good and showers were hot.., that’s all I need. Parkside is quieter with its own pool and bar so nice to chill at the end of the day. We spent most time st the main pool. We usually went for sunbeds at around 9-9.30 and always managed to get 6-7 beds together at this time of the day though usually on the grass at the back of the pool. I did yoga. Few times which wax great as was aqua gym. Food was excellent though a bit manic in the buffet but this was peak season so exactly what I expected. Evening entertainment was good as were the cocktails. We used the spa for hammam and masssge which we all enjoyed. Beach is shingle and lots of stones for getting into sea (though there is a boardwalk) sea is also a little choppy and shelves quite quickly. We will definitely be back and would have no hesitation in staying parkside again though if I came as a couple would probably opt for lagoon room. All in all a great family holiday
