Grand Hotel Llandudno

No cabinets next to bed, mirror was too far away from plug for hair dryer, dirty bathroom floor, bath stained. Security lock on window broken. Only supplied white sugar in room. Heating thermostat too high to turn down. B/fast was ok, cereals only 2 choices like cardboard. unfortunately dinner what can I say, powder soup with lumps, not just one night, selection for meals not enough, frozen battered fish, fish fingers also battered, chops were dry, cottage pie watery with frozen veg. Also vegetables available were all from freezer. Dessert was cakes selection of 3 every night but mainly all the same, there was rice pudding one night then custard. Well evening bingo £10 for 3 cards which were all the same numbers, but the amount of money we all put in did not match the number for the prizes. Asked for milk one night only but never recieved. Last but not least sat at 2 different tables at night with chewing gum underneath, 3 curtains in dinning area were tied back with large white bins bags, then were changed to 3 tea towels.

Honestly I felt so let down by the cleanliness of our room will never return here

A decent enough stay , refurbished room & plenty of hot water too. The food was hit & miss breakfast ok , but dinner was served with cheap mixed vegetables on some evenings . The staff especially Andrew were great & no Duncan there either YIPEEEEEE.

Lovely hotel in a good location, friendly staff, and food and entertainment good value for the money.

After having looked at these reviews I have to say this hotel is pretty basic but you get what you pay for and the staff do anything to accommodate and go above and beyond , Iman the manager was a lovely girl, maintenance guy was lovely mannered , the house keeping and hospitality staff were all lovely i seriously do think that some people need to watch how they speak and treat others and address there manner there is no need to take frustration and anger out on the staff you speak to a person how you'd be expected to be spoken too , i witnessed this whilst i visited . We had a good enough room nice and warm with a sea view the meal were good and the entertainment was average but also good. I would go back here it only needs a lick of paint and a wee upgrade . Remember folk there was such a thing called lock down which hit a lot of businesses people need to reel themselves in and act accordingly .

We booked for Friday and Saturday on valentines weekend , we stayed for 1 night as it was so bad , the room was filthy and the patio doors out on to the rusty balcony banged all night , we stacked chairs and a tv cabinet against it to try and stop it . There were no other rooms free and they would not refund us . In all it was just an absolute nightmare and we would not recommend staying there.

Oh dear! Having just had 2 nights at the Claremont hotel in Blackpool, 2 nights at the Dolby Hotel in Liverpool and 2 nights at the Waterfront Hotel in Southport we arrived at The Grand hotel in Llandudno for 2 nights...oh dear! First the good points, parking is free for blue badge holders, and reception looked quite nice. That's it, the end of the good bits. On entering the room, I must have missed the bit where I booked a themed room. The theme being "a prison cell". The walls were painted the most disgusting shade of diarrhoea. No pictures on the walls, the curtains barely holding on, the sides of the radiator hanging off, the lovely art work of mould on 1 wall, the best sorry, worst wiring I've ever seen for the towel rail in the bathroom and pillows so hard that appeared to be stuffed with cement! If on booking in you are given keys to room 432 just refuse to stay in that room. We didn't eat or even have a drink in this hotel, we just couldn't wait to leave. Both of us struggled to get any sleep. The pillows really were solid and uncomfortable. Please take a look at the photos I took and think twice before booking this hotel. Just being in that room was depressing, and I had a definite shift in my mood. It just wasn't a nice room, I felt really down at having to spend 2 nights. Location of hotel is good, but staying in the Grand Hotel left me depressed, feeling like I'd had 2 nights in a youth hostel. I certainly cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I paid just over £100 for 2 nights for 2 people, and honestly that was £99 too much. I feel upset that they took my money and put us in a room like that. Perhaps I should have confronted the hotel while we were there, but I just wanted out of there without any confrontation. All I can say is never again.

Pleasently surprised at our 5 day stay, fabulous food every day especially the christmas dinner, great chef,***** room was nice & warm, All the staff were very friendly & nothing too much trouble, the only downful was the evening entertainment, Just some music videos would do. Will be back. Trev

My partner and I booked the hotel as we were completing a walk in the area and believed it would be a suitable and comfortable location. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. The entrance was crowded with people smoking, and the reception area smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. This was unpleasant and immediately gave a poor first impression. The room itself was tired and shabby. The main ceiling light did not work, nor did the wall light, leaving the room inadequately lit. The toilet door lock was also broken and would not shut, which is completely unacceptable in terms of privacy. The bathroom was in an unacceptable condition overall: there were visible stains running up the wall beside the toilet, the area was dirty, and several tiles were cracked. This raised serious concerns about hygiene and maintenance. The hallways were poorly maintained. Empty beer glasses were left outside rooms when we arrived and were still there when we checked out the following day. While at reception, we also witnessed another couple reporting that there was blood all over their bedroom and requesting a room change, which was extremely concerning. We requested two extra pillows and were told we were “on the list.” After waiting over two hours with no delivery, we had to return to reception and ask again. I would also like to note that photographs were taken of all the issues identified during our stay. Additionally, the photographs used to advertise the hotel online are nothing like the rooms actually provided, which I believe is misleading. Considering the price paid, the overall experience was disgusting, filthy, and entirely unacceptable—far more like a homeless hostel than a hotel. The condition, cleanliness, and service fell well below any reasonable standard.

We enjoyed our stay. Views from the Seaview rooms are amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful and having entertainment on site is a rare luxury these days. They have spent some money upgrading the building but it could do with a bit more work. Personally I think it is good that there are still hotels in the budget end of the spectrum. A few years ago almost every hotel suddenly seemed to feel they should only offer executive or exclusive accommodation and make you pay through the nose! I don't care if the decor is dated as long as the price is right and I get a good breakfast and a good view.
