Grand Hotel Llandudno

For a budget Hotel everything went well , the booking was straight forward , the Receptionist was very pleasant and all booked in with in minutes of arriving , our room was a sea view , a view that is hard to beat wherever you're staying , our room was dated but was kept to a good standard , every time we've visited the rooms and the linen have always been clean , it's had poor reviews over the years but I'd never say that I would never come back , wouldn't hesitate to return, even if it was for the view only

Worst I have ever stayed in the bed killed my wife and I we asked for a mattress topper and two extra pillows. They said yes but kept us waiting 4 hours still nothing so we had to go to bed the way it was . I had booked for two nites but after one I wanted to come home never again

Very shabby hotel. Bedrooms very basic, needs decorated, paper thin walls, creaking floorboards, horrible shower. Food awful so we decided to eat elsewhere. Lounge area pleasant and a good location to the town but I definitely won't be staying there again

Just come back from a few days away our stay a the Grand was fantastic all the staff were amazing especially the night porter who went beyond to help my wife.also the room was great clean and tidy and the food was great can't wait to come back

Hotel needs updating.Rooms not cleaned properly

Some good & some bad things . Firstly check in was a bit of a shambles. One person on the desk where two would have meant less queue. All the room cards were supposed to be pre programmed but every person I saw get their cards brought them straight back, not working. Ours was the same. However, once in our room it was ok, a bit old fashioned, a bit tired in places but good features like a small balcony, plenty of sockets , pod coffee machine, fan & a fridge made it very comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, the bed was great! Huge bathroom with bath was nice but dated. Most importantly everything was clean ! The building is obviously old & a huge job to maintain but they are trying to keep it tidy. We had breakfast, it was ok. All on Buffett, plenty of everything if perhaps not top quality. The dining room was a big pleasant space with views over the bay. Finally the staff, they were all great. Even the poor guy on reception firefighting a bad situation he’d been put in!

First room I got was like a cupboard. When I asked about another room I was given one on the 4th floor. The shower was tiny with black mold on the walls, shower head was full of black mould, no water pressure and the balcony was filthy. I thought I'd been stung by something but when I went to the chemist they told me that it was flee bites. Food was awful and you had to look through the plates and cups to find clean one's. The place was full of dogs and some owners even took them into the dining room. There was no mention of dogs staying on the website. Had I known I would never have booked it. The stage area near the bar had plaster peeling from damp patches on the ceiling. The place was dated and run down. It was a dump that needed closing and completely restored and refurbished with decent quality furniture. I stayed there because I have stayed at Britania Hotels before and they were excellent but not this one. I've been home 2 weeks and I'm still full of itchy spots. I would never stay here again and I talked to other people who said the same. To be fair I never take a lot of notice of reviews but this time I should have

I have just returned from a two night stay, and had a amazing sea view. Room was very large, and comfey beds. Staff were very helpful, and a very good breakfast, lots of options. Room was very clean with everything I needed. A little bit tatty in places but I didnt mind that at all as was very homely and cozey.

I was initially drawn to this hotel due to its excellent location, which truly stands out. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience fell far short of expectations. The room itself was small, rundown, and lacked basic amenities - we were surprised to find no water bottles provided. The bathroom was also in need of attention, with mold on the curtain next to the shower and only a single small soap bar for handwashing (no body wash was available). To make matters worse, the room's view didn't match the hotel's website promises; instead of the advertised view, our window looked directly into another room's window. The bar experience was also disappointing. The staff seemed unwelcoming and uninterested in helping with orders, and their selection of beers was limited - only one option was available, with several others being "out of stock." On a more positive note, the reception staff were helpful and friendly, answering our questions and greeting us with a smile. Overall, while the location is a highlight, the hotel's facilities and service need significant improvement.

place needed a good clean in places bedding was clean and fresh and it could do with a lick of paint everywhere. no service of your room the whole entire stay if you want fresh towels, tea coffee etc or toilet roll you have to ask at reception. breakfast was ok plenty of it and warm. staff very friendly i would stop again as it met our needs
