Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort

Great location and professional staff. Beautiful view and nice food. Clean and pretty beach, not too crowded. Recommended

Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay is located about 20 minutes by driving from Kotor old town. When I arrived at the front desk, there was a huge group checking out. But Ass. GM Mr. Hassan came out from front desk immediately to greet me with my name and said he was waiting for me. This made my first impression of the hotel very pleasant because I had not handed out my passport yet. Afterwards, Ms. Deng of the front desk helped our family in planning trips around Kotor Bay. All of this happened when the lobby was filled with large busy crowd. If you visit Montenegro, it is better to rent a car because the places of interest spread out around the bay and taxi/bus is not frequent. The hotel offered free valet parking. Courteous bell desk and concierge managers both supervised parking and retrieving by staff. You can’t ask more than that. The road led to the property was a bit narrow. Make sure you are confident in your driving skills or you should take public transportation. Uber is not available in Kotor Bay. The hotel pools were very big. There was also a beach pool. In a word, the management team at this property represented the highest hospitality standard in Europe.

My stay would have been good apart from the last night - a Sunday where the hotel has decided to allow an outdoor wedding at the pool area. Right in front of the pool view rooms - which we had paid extra for - they had very very loud hard core tech music being played until after midnight- I was not warned about this at check in - if I had been I would have asked for a different room as with an early start on Monday I got about 4 hours sleep

We arrived to a completely full lobby after a wedding party with no space to move. Rubbish from the party had not been cleared. We received our room key 30 minutes after the check in time. Service around the pool and in the Ole restaurant was very slow. Definitely not a 5 star experience. The positive was the swim up room.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort for two weeks for our honeymoon at the start of September and had an amazing time. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with stunning views. We were in room 218 (a premium king sea view room) - this wasn’t a full, unobstructed sea view but you could see some of the sea and it had a panoramic view of the mountains. It was very modern and spacious and was kept very clean throughout our stay. The staff are what makes this hotel. The service is brilliant and they are all so professional and helpful. There are 4 places to eat in the hotel (a buffet restaurant, a poolside bar, a beach bar and a more upmarket al a carte) and the food and service in all of them were brilliant. Breakfast was buffet-style with lots of choice and very tasty. The hotel has great facilities - 2 outdoor pools, a private beach, an indoor pool and spa, a gym and even its own concierge to book trips and make reservations for you. The hotel is located 20 minutes from Kotor Old Town and also isn’t far from Perast, Tivat and Porto Montenegro which are all worth visiting. A few cons: - If you want to eat outside of the hotel there are only a couple of options in walking distance. The bus service to Kotor Old Town is so unreliable that we ended up waiting over an hour for it to arrive one day. We relied on taxis to get about which the hotel reception can book for you. We were surprised that the hotel didn’t provide its own water taxi service to Kotor Old Town which would make the process of getting out and about a lot easier and more enjoyable. - The cost of some things in the hotel is a bit of a rip off which can leave a sour taste. For example, we paid €15 for two ice creams around the pool, a bottle of water is €6 and a 10 minute boat ride to Perast organised by the concierge was €50 each way. The upmarket al a carte (the Lighthouse Restaurant) is very expensive and portion sizes are small, however the other restaurants in the hotel are quite reasonably priced. - We felt that the hotel could do more in terms of entertainment. The evenings are very quiet and there isn’t anything to do after dinner - there is no entertainment, music, sport or pool tables. The indoor bar area is tiny and rarely seems to be used. - Staff in the buffet restaurant in the evening are very pushy with payment. As soon as you enter the restaurant they ask how you will be paying and the bill then arrives within seconds of you being seated (before you had even eaten anything!) which we found a bit bizarre. These are only very small areas for improvement and overall we were very impressed with the hotel. We would definitely recommend this resort to couples wanting a more luxury stay in the Kotor area.

Wonderful property, friendly staff and great restaurant! While the town of Kotor is nearby it’s hard to leave such a beautiful property!

Le personnel est très gentil mais l’hôtel n’est pas un vrai 5 étoiles. Nous avons été déçu sur la propreté et l’entretien. L’hôtel reçoit des groupes et nous coupe l’accès à certains espaces et il y eu plusieurs fêtes bruyantes pendant notre séjour.

An amazing hotel with exceptional staff and service. Food was incredible with an amazing selection at Breakfast and the a la carte restaurant with exceptional menu and wine selection. Dura the hotel Concierge was so helpful in giving us trip advice and booking us taxis and boats for our excursions. It has to be the best hotel on Kotor Bay.

Our stay at Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay was absolutely amazing. The views are stunning, and the staff went above and beyond. The amenities were perfect, from the private beach to the fantastic restaurants. Truly a 5-star experience from start to finish!

The staff were absolutely amazing especially Ana the guest experience executive. I emailed prior to my visit to explain we were celebrating 30 years together. Upon arrival we were greeted by smiling faces very welcoming and a chilled glass of fizz. After a few minutes Ana came and introduced herself and gaves us a very warm welcome. Another member of staff took our case and Ana took us to see our room...Well it was absolutely amazing gorgeous sea view huge suite and she had laid on a bottle of chilled fizz with a dessert too. We felt like royalty. Everywhere we went around the hotel the staff smiled and greeted you. We feel that this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in...we have travelled all over the world. Kotor Bay is beautiful..but the hotel and staff are outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. We like our room cleaned b4 lunch as we go up and like to relax b4 dinner. I asked if at all possible could they clean room a bit early..reception asked what time? After that our room was cleaned early every day. They really want yout to have a fantastic time and we did. We want to thank all the staff ...the room was kept spotless by housekeeping who work really hard. Breakfast was fantastic..so much choice and they cook eggs whichever way you like to eat then..best meal of the day for me. Sadly time to leave..but the manager and staff carried our cases to the car and waved us off...how kind is that. Thankyou to all at Hyatt Regency for truly giving us happy memories of our 30th years anniversary....especiallly Ana xxxxx
