Outstanding hotel choice for a five-night stay in Bologna with two other couples. Start with the location, steps from the historic city center and accessible to all our locations, shopping and dining - could not be improved. Our room was generous (within the general expectations for the price range in Europe) - the main benefit was an entry way into both the room and the good-sized bathroom, which was clean and well equipped. Storage was adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful, both at breakfast where we were kept well supplied with caffeine as we sat to plan our days, and at the front desk. Planning note: The desk staff helped us with bookings, to get to the train station - prudence would add some extra margin, as with the central location, taxi access to the rear door is a challenge, and congestion in driving away should be expected.

Hotel Roma Review - Bologna I recently stayed at Hotel Roma in Bologna and, to be honest, my experience was a mixed bag. When I booked our stay, I was thrilled about the location in the historic city center and the hotel's storied past. However, my excitement quickly waned as the stay unfolded. Upon arrival, we were welcomed promptly, and the check-in process was smooth, which set a positive tone. However, I did find it surprising that no assistance was offered to help us with our luggage to our room, especially considering this is advertised as a 4-star establishment. The room itself was spacious, complete with a desk and a cozy chair, but we had booked a queen bed and ended up with two singles. While we managed to push them together, it was not ideal. The amenities left much to be desired; there was a kettle with tea but no coffee options. A Nespresso machine would have been a simple enhancement that could easily elevate the experience. The beds felt worn out, and having only one pillow made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The bathroom was adequate, though the shower was quite cramped. After our first day out, we returned to find our room had not been cleaned. It was only on the second day that it was attended to, but to our disappointment, none of the toiletries were replenished. The size of the shampoo and body wash was notably small—about a third of the usual mini hotel products—and the soap was a tiny puck that barely lathered. Breakfast was another area

I can really recommend Hotel Roma. The location was perfect and so was the whole staff. Our only downside was that the rolling blinds would not go up later on (they did halfway at first) so we could not utilize the balcony. We did tell the staff and they offered us a nicer room but we had already gotten settled in and only had 1 night there.

Front desk staff grumpy and not very helpful. At times, do many staff but not helpful.

We loved the hotel and our room with a huge balcony! The hotel is located conveniently to a variety of restaurants as well as historic sites the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

I would not consider this a hotel. It was clean but the bathroom smelled of sewage. Staff was fine. There was zero breakfast offered, which it advertised. 5/10

We stayed here during a visit to our Italian factory during April 2025. Fantastic location within the old town of Bologna with loverly restaurant and bar inside. Brilliant service by all staff who made our stay in Bologna very enjoyable. Hotel is located not far from many of the sites in Bologna and vibrant shopping and restaurant streets

My room was very small but very comfortable for a weekend. The location is ideal, right in the middle of everything. I would stay here again, maybe I’d upgrade my room though
