Appart'Hôtel le Génépy

As septuagenarians, we have enjoyed dozens of visits to Chamonix, over the years. How we missed le Genepy is a mystery, especially during covid when an apartment hotel is high priority. With or without the pandemic, this little gem smack in the middle of Chamonix, set back onto the walking street, is a real 'go to'. Our choice was one of the small ground floor units with kitchenette. It is clean, and simply furnished, with a delightful, intimate outdoor patio surrounded by plants. There is even a dash of charm in the simplicity.

It’s a very convenient location to visit the town. Town is small so it’s also convenient to the train & tram. Unfortunately, bad weather prohibits the tram to the mountain peaks & rain made hiking impossible. Our room 3, 1-bedroom apartment, has a nice kitchen to spend time in. Check-in was a little confusing;m, it’s at hotel Le Faucigny, across from it.

The studio was super clean, well equipped and comfortable. The way the flat was organized, with the bedroom upstairs, made it feel like a super cosy and welcoming small home. THe location is brilliant, set just off the main way but in a quiet courtyard getting the best of both worlds. Amazing breakfast at the Genepy. All in all would certainly reccomend it!!

We stayed in the Apartments, which was perfect for our family! It was modern, clean, and update to date. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bedding was so comfortable. It was next door to the supermarket, bakery, and tons of awesome cafes! The Staff at the front desk were outstanding. We were lost getting to the hotel, and they went out of their way to ensure we made it safely!

Clean, spacious, stylish and well-equipped apartment in the very center of Chamonix village. Walking distance to everything with a supermarket conveniently located just around the corner. With three separate bedrooms, it was perfect for our family of five. We particularly appreciated the changing-room by the entrance, the separate dining room and the balcony. At a location like this, some early morning delivery noises and late night bar music are bound to seep in. We did not mind. Great stay in a great location at a decent price.

Perfect location, quiet and spacious 2-level suite with a kitchen area, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms - exceptionally convenient for families with children, very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Good quiet location, even though the main street was nearby. The apartments were light and airy, ours with a magnificent view of Mount Blanc. The staff was really helpful, and parking was cheap (underground garage for approx 10€/day). Overall a superb experience, will definitely come back during the winter!

The apartment was perfect for what we wanted. They are well equipped so you can easily cook any meal and the location is 15 metres from the nearest supermarket and right in the centre of Chamonix, close to Brevent and also buses to other ski locations.

We arrived here on Thursday night late and stayed until Monday. The situation of the Genepy is amazing. Right in the heart of Chamonix with a supermarket on the corner and near to bus routes and the Brevant ski area. The apartment was so quiet despite being in the middle of town. It was very well equipped, although we didn’t cook in, and was cleaned spotlessly every day. I can’t recommend this enough. Excellent.
