"Great beach resort with an amazing, spotless beach"

10.0

Everything you could want in a Thai beach resort - especially the fantastic beach. Breakfast is good, pools are amazing and the attentive service by every member of staff is worthy of an extra star. Some of the cheaper rooms are dated - especially bathrooms - wifi is no great shakes an even after 5 days we couldn’t figure out what the 17 light switches in our room actually controlled! This resort has every facility you could want and you can even throw in a good gym, free yoga, free towel folding lessons and pétanque as well as use of kayaks and paddle boards. Deserving of its top status in this part of Lanta.

"Paradise"

10.0

This was our third visit and did not disappoint. Amazing hotel and the staff are lovely, always smiling, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The beach is beautiful and they have some fantastic restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The market is a 30 minute walk or just jump on a tuk tuk and enjoy the breeze. Will definitely be returning to this little gem.

"Beautiful setting but needs more customer focus"

6.0

The location is undeniably beautiful, with a truly stunning beach that makes you pause and take it all in. The grounds are attractive and well maintained, and visually it delivers exactly what you hope for when booking a beach escape. Unfortunately, the customer experience did not match the setting. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager (I believe his name was Peti, as there was no one called Michelle). He was initially warm and welcoming, but it quickly became apparent that this enthusiasm was tied to selling tickets for the weekly buffet. Once we agreed, the friendliness noticeably faded. After that, he would often walk past without acknowledgment, which made the atmosphere feel transactional rather than genuinely hospitable. There were two further interactions that stood out. On one occasion, a couple attempted to move sunbeds onto the beach and were told this was not permitted due to government regulations. While this may well be the case, Peti's approach felt more focused on reprimanding than assisting them in finding a comfortable alternative. On another occasion, I was bitten by ants nesting under my sun lounger. I reported this to reception and was told someone would attend, but no one came. As all other beds were occupied, I used the insect spray provided in the room to treat the nest. Within seconds, Peti arrived and publicly reprimanded me, stating this was “very dangerous.” This felt contradictory given that the hotel uses the same product around the grounds twice weekly with large spraying machines, to the extent that we occasionally had to stay indoors to avoid it. At no point was there concern shown for the bites or assistance offered in finding another place to sit. Disappointingly, there was also no acknowledgment of our wedding anniversary during our stay, despite it being communicated by the travel agent. At other hotels during this trip, this was recognised with small but thoughtful gestures. There were also several inconsistencies and missing touches that you would not expect from a five-star hotel in Thailand: - Limited information about hotel facilities provided on arrival and no app to contact reception - Only two beach towels provided for a 10-night stay, to be shared between beach and private pool, and only replaced if left for housekeeping. - A noticeable absence of staff at the pool or beach and generally around the hotel to help guests. -No drinking water available at the pool or beach - Breakfast eggs not cooked to order or kept warm - Complimentary daytime coffee required a walk to the breakfast area and was served in small paper cups - Private villa pools cleaned only upon request - Toiletries replaced inconsistently - Stained bathroom towels - Golf buggies rarely available - Pool areas not always cleared of plant debris and fallen fruit - Unpadded sunbeds - Shuttle bus to town runs only once daily (at 4pm), despite the town being a short drive away - QR code ordering system for food and drink was difficult to use and required card payment To be clear, we did enjoy our stay as the hotel met all our needs including a very comfy bed. See 'Nicola from Walsall's' review below for the positives as I agree with everything she says. However, it lacked the small but important details that doesn't match up to our other hotel stays in Thailand. It likely explains why the hotel does not hold a five-star rating. A luxury experience cannot be delivered on a tight budget.

"Little silce of heaven, tranquil, perfect holiday."

10.0

We had an amazing, relaxing 10 night holiday at the Twin Lotus. Stayed in 709 Seaview Villa, it was perfect, less than minute walk to the most beautiful stretch of beach which we enjoyed walking along a few times aday. But the cherry on the top was watching the sunset every evening from the patio. Our Villa was clean, very spacious, plenty of storage space, shower gel, shampoo & condition is provided. The bed was extremely comfy & big. 4 bottles of water are left daily by house keeping. There are two heavy doors that open in or out to bathroom, however we never had any issues, as we never just let the doors swing shut, we mainly kept one open which did not hinder any space in the room. The hotel grounds are very well maintained & the beach was also cleaned in the mornings during our stay. I did use the gym few times which was well equipped also provided towels & water. Loved breakfast, alot of choices. The cold room is a great touch for fresh meats, cheeses, yogurts, fruit, juices ect. A great coffee/tea station. The egg station did all usual, recommend to try the Thai omelette. Great selection of bread too. The eating area was kept very clean & the staff work very hard. The hotel does a Thai buffet & Seafood buffet night once a week worth giving a go. We enjoyed light lunches & refreshing smoothies (happy hour too) around beach/pool, menu had a very good selection, food was delicious. Coffee plus bottled water were free to help yourself in the afternoon nice touch. There is alot to do around the hotel, many good restaurants, bars within a short walk. A trip by Tuk Tuk to Lanta walking street Sala Dan is worth it, cost us 200bht for 4. We would also recommend the Mangroves, beautiful & trip to Lanta Old town. We would like to thank all the staff who work very hard but especially Michelle for making our stay extra special, you are truly a star & a credit to the hotel. We really do hope to return a third time, to this little piece of paradise.

"OK hotel, but busy even when in the 'adults only' time"

6.0

Our first time to Ko Lanta and we were hoping for somewhere quiet. Unfortunately with TUI now selling packages here, even lesser known places such as here are getting too busy and with the kind of crowd that seem to not know how to behave (more on that later!) I had chosen the TL because it was adults-only between November and April booking a Deluxe Garden Villa which looked lovely on the website. Arrival was smooth and efficient, our booking was found straight away, passports scanned and we were on the golf buggy before we knew it. When we arrived at our room and walked in I honestly thought we had been given the wrong room category as it looked nothing like the photos on the website; the wardrobe layout was different, the bathroom layout was different. It was only when I looked at the room number outside the door that it confirmed this was a Deluxe room. Hmmm. The doors to the bathroom are big and heavy and only opened inwards or outwards. If you opened them one way you couldn’t get past the bed, the other way and they block the way to the toilet; also one of them swung so dramatically that if you didn’t get out the way it would slam into you on the return swing. The double glazing is mirrored on the outside so you can’t easily see in during the day and the big window near the toilet has a rattan blind. However this is a different story at night and you have the lights on. Certainly in our room anyway. I was sat outside on the settee one evening and turned round to see my husband on full show in the toilet! So just beware, if your bathroom is near a path, be careful when you go to the loo in the evening as someone might get a view they’re not expecting! Breakfast was relatively well run and there is lots of choice. But there are a number of issues we noticed. The cold room where you access yogurts, fruit, fruit juices and cereals has heavy sliding doors. This is great when you don’t have both hands full, otherwise it is a real struggle to open the doors as they are heavy and particularly when other guests don’t think about anything but themselves and slam the door in your face and then giggle at you afterwards - just rude and arrogant. The other thing we noticed was the egg station. We always have over-medium eggs which every egg chef on the planet has always obliged to do fresh; here we were simply pointed to two piles of eggs, one over-hard, the other sunny side up. Not very friendly and to be honest the eggs were piled up every morning on the side, not under any heat lamps, gathering that salmonella nicely. After we saw that we decided to ask for fresh cooked omelettes or scrambled instead, which were always done with a smile and very well….so why not do fresh fried eggs to order too? I often have the Thai curry with breakfast but avoided it here because it was always done with a cheap cut of chicken wings rather than breast meat. The coffee is fantastic though, can’t fault 4 excellent coffee machines, plus two pots of filtered, and with hot milk too. The grounds are very well maintained and there were enough sun loungers even at peak over Christmas. However, despite the brilliant landscaping by the gardening team, the beach area near the hotel leaves a bit to be desired. We saw loungers blocked for days by people leaving their towels there and never showing up. Rubbish from guests was never cleared away and the beach never received a tidy up either; something which you see in every other major resort area. Some reviewers said that the staff come along the beach loungers during the afternoon offering drinks and fresh fruit - never saw anything of the sort in the whole week we were there and we sat on the loungers on the beach next to the resort fence line. There was also some random policy of allowing people to move their loungers further down the beach to get the sun on some days, and then being told off and told to move them back on other days. Housekeeping was ok. It came at random times of the day throughout our stay, there was no method to how many fresh beach towels you received irrespective of whether you were handing back two or one dirty. On most days the room smelt fresh and clean but on our last full day it was almost as if they’d popped in, made the bed and dumped some fresh bath towels in. I had hoped that coming to the TL as adults-only between Nov-Apr would have meant a quieter, more relaxing time, however some of the clients were just plain rude, barged past you at breakfast or on the path, and couldn’t seem to work out how to be courteous to others with the breakfast cold room doors, seriously it’s not rocket science. The staff for the most part were friendly and seemed happy to be there and the grounds were very well maintained by a happy bunch of gardeners. Just several areas of concern being the standard of the room versus what was on the website, the approach to “fresh eggs” at breakfast and housekeeping could be a lot more improved. Not sure I would come back based on how busy Ko Lanta actually was and the rudeness of some of the clientele staying at the hotel. It was OK, but for the price paid it was not as good as what you could probably get elsewhere for the price.

"Enjoyable stay"

10.0

We had a 13 night stay here Feb/March and ended up in 3 rooms throughout our stay. We were lucky to get an upgrade on our first night for one night to a private villa before moving to our chose room, a deluxe garden villa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the novelty of being steps from our room to the beach, often going out for dinner bare foot. Breakfast was peaceful with a good variety. We enjoyed the coffee. It's also nice to have access to free coffee and water throughout the day in tge breakfast restaurant which was a nice touch. Staff were always pleasant and friendly. We didn't use the hotel bar or restaurant as others have stated the prices were expensive. I think our only real downside was that sun loungers are minimal and are taken pretty much by 8am by the people who think it is ok to reserve them and then not use them. Our deluxe garden villa was nice, just what we needed. I think we would have perhaps benefited from a mirror on the dressing table and a canopy for the outdoor area which was in the sun all day long but otherwise, it was cleaned well each day, the bed was comfy etc.

"Favourite place in the world!"

10.0

This is our third time at twin lotus and I can’t say enough good things about it. It just keeps getting better and better always striving to improve. But how can you improve perfection? The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the breakfast now has a pastry chef that makes amazing baked breads and pastries everyday. And the added ham from Spain is a lovely addition . The beach is perfect , fabulous for swimming and taking long walks. Since it’s adults only it is always quiet and peaceful and a nice mix of young and older people. The best part is the staff. Consistently excellent staff who are so pleasant and accommodating. Michelle and Marc particularly go out of their way to ensure everything is running smoothly. They are amazing and twin lotus is fortunate to have them on their team. But all of the staff are great and work together . It is a joy to watch. Highly recommend ! If you’re looking for an amazing ing property that will not disappoint I highly recommend twin lotus

"My favourite place"

10.0

My husband, brother and myself stayed in this wonderful hotel . This is our 5th time here and we love it . The service is fantastic from everyone working here especial Michelle who will always go the extra mile. My brother loved an early morning swim and my husband and I would take an early walk on the beautiful long sandy beach before it was too hot, then we would come back to the fantastic breakfast buffet . I cannot wait to return next year .

"Amazing stay. Even better staff"

10.0

From start to finish my stay here was amazing. The service is top tier. Michelle and the team went out of their way to make mine and my partners birthdays a hit (helping to arrange flowers and cake delivery from the mainland). The gardens are so well kept and beautiful. Breakfast was great every day. It’s a tiny bit dated but is very much worth the value and service you’ll receive. Thank you so much Michelle kaaa

"Amazing Adults-Only Beachfront Resort in Koh Lanta – Better Than many 5*"

10.0

What an incredible place! We’re staying at the Twin Lotus Resort & Spa (adults-only during this season) on Koh Lanta, and we couldn’t be happier. The location is fantastic: it’s right on Klong Dao Beach, a super long stretch of beautiful white sand. Even at low tide, it’s all soft sand—no rocks or coral to worry about. In the mornings, it’s pure bliss to walk for miles along the shoreline with the calm sea and peaceful atmosphere. Absolutely lovely. The resort itself is spectacular. Surrounded by tall palm trees and lush tropical gardens, it feels like a real oasis of calm. No kids around (strictly adults only), so you can truly breathe in the peace and tranquility—perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. The infinity pool is stunning, positioned right in front of the beach with comfy sun loungers and high-quality towels. You can spend the whole day switching between the pool, the sea, and a shady spot under the palms… heaven! The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive—always smiling, super helpful, and the service is top-notch. Breakfast is excellent with a great variety and everything tastes delicious. In general, the food at the resort restaurants is really good, both in quality and presentation. Honestly, it’s rated as 4 stars, but in terms of experience, it outshines many 5-star places we’ve stayed at before. I have no idea why it doesn’t have 5 stars officially—it’s spotless, beautifully maintained, and the overall vibe is just perfect. If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing spot on Koh Lanta, don’t hesitate—come to Twin Lotus Resort & Spa. You won’t regret it for a second. Highly, highly recommended! 🌴🏖️✨ 5/5 stars, no question.
