ECOTICA Boutique Hotel & Spa.

My 12 year old twins & I stayed for 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer!! I actually booked other hotels and as soon as I found this resort, I was sold. This property is amazing! It’s spread out on a hill in the jungle, right in the heart of Manuel Antonio. We saw monkeys jumping around in the tree canopy every evening.The pool area is more beautiful than the pictures show. The restaurant and sports bar in the middle of the property is great food, drinks, live music, games and very family friendly! The delicious breakfast was included and not to be missed. Rooms are really comfortable and spacious.

The property is beautiful and gives the feeling of living in the middle of a rainforest. It is quiet and attracts many animals. One doesn't need to do a mangrove tour to see monkeys; you can see them on the property. Most of the staff we interacted with were wonderful, but one bartender/waitress at the pool was extremely rude to us; it’s hard to forgive since we were genuinely kind to every one of the staff. Poolside service is not like in any of the Caribbean resorts. One has to place an order at the bar, and they bring you the drink. The dining options were good and tasty. The bungalow was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. However, the lack of an air vent in the bathroom wasn’t helpful. Typically, I’d keep these minor complaints to myself, but we expected better service for the amount we paid to stay.

On the main road, noise from outside carried into room. Smell from drains, bugs (all around the property but it looked like our room had not been in use — light fixture didn’t work). Very friendly staff. Other than staff not much upside for the price.

The property has a beautiful garden that brings about a lot of animals. Most of the staff we interacted with was wonderful, but there was one bartender at the pool that was so horrible to us it’s hard to forgive. The pool towel service was nonexistent. They took the two we were given and then there weren’t any ever available again during our 3 night stay. We also think they might have bad plumbing issue? Every time we turn on the shower there was an awful sewer smell that would just linger for a long time. It wasn’t helpful that the bathroom didn’t have an air vent. Typically, these are small complaints I’d keep to myself but the amount we paid to stay here, we were expecting it to be a tad bit better.

Nice room the only thing is if you don't like the stairs they have rooms in different floors with no lift.

This is a well located and well equipped hotel. However there were various problems with the room. In-room safe was faulty, shower head was faulty and the shower drain was blocked. WiFi signal in room was insufficient for streaming on smart TV. We reported these issues and initially little was done. On third day, I talked directly with maintenance and some issues got resolved. We asked to see the manager but he was too busy. We were given a complimentary meal for our trouble which was appreciated.

Excellent staff, very clean and an awesome environment. Joshua was very helpful and informative.
