Gainsborough House Hotel

Very polite and cheerful staff. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Fabulous air conditioning in the room, most welcome during our 2 night stay during the current heatwave! Breakfast was excellent value for money, offering a mix of hot and cold foods, and fresh fruit. We also enjoyed an evening meal at the hotel. Walkable into the town centre. Easy free onsite parking.

The grounds of the property need attention, as overgrown and neglected. A lawn mow, and replacement benches would be an easy, inexpensive fix. This would encourage greater use of the bar during summer months. There are already interesting trees there, so a plant or two would transform the gardens.

It was directly next door to Tesco express

Staff greeting on arrival, carrying of our bags to our room. Comfy bed, clean white bed linen and towels. Good shower and nice breakfast to start the day. Staff friendly throughout our stay. Nice bar area and evening meal available if you would like.

Needs a little tlc but good value for money.

The view from the bedroom window was poor, because all of the outside gardrens need attention. There are magnificent trees, however, the gardens and furniture are neglected and overgrown. A grass mow, new benches, a few plants for colour, and sun umbrellas would be an easy and inexpensive fix, which would pay for itself be increased bar use.

Good choice for breakfast,good range across the board .Pleased breakfast time started early.
