"A real gem!"

10.0

This was our first time at the lovely Francis Malbone House in Newport, RI, but we are already planning our next stay ! This is truly a gem in every way; charm, history, customer service and beautifully appointed rooms . We were well cared for from the minute we arrived, by Toby who checked us in, and who was a total delight! She could have not been more helpful, professional and truly delightful. Little touches , such as afternoon sweet treats, enjoyed with a glass of wine from their “honor bar”, in the lovely and serene courtyard, were simply sublime. Breakfasts were ample and delicious and Sue made it her mission to ensure all were well cared for and promptly served . The location on Thames St is perfect for walking and exploring the Mansions, the Cliff Walk or wonderful shops and restaurants . This has become our new favorite find!!

Good location, fun historic building

Really poor value, lots of little details missed. Non-responsive to messages before stay. Sent me a thank you for already staying with us check out message - a day before I checked in. Every morning when we asked for almond milk, they told us they'd have it out for us the next day and it never was - if you're going to say it might as well do it. For the price the quality of breakfast was kind of mediocre at best. We found a bunch of things like makeup and such from the previous folks who stayed in the room when we arrived - attention to detail seems missed

You would never know this gorgeous property is steps away from the bustling, somewhat noisy, Thames St. Once you step inside the front door, into the main house, all the chaos disappears. The courtyard in the center of the property is a peaceful place to have morning coffee or rest between excursions. I loved that my husband could walk the docks early while I was still getting ready, then be back for 8am breakfast. And I could shop while he napped. The property has a large entry from the private parking lot in back...easy to unload suitcases. In the room, I was happy to see Farmhouse Fresh products in the bathroom. We also walked into jazzy big band music playing on the radio/phone charger. Nice touch! Throughout the property, it's worth taking a look at the historic art, which seemed to tell stories about early America and the Revolution, all the way to the late 1800s.

"a Classic Vintage Hotel in the Heart of Newport"

10.0

My girlfriend and I just spent five nights at the Francis Malbone House in Newport, and honestly, we didn’t want to leave. From the start, the staff made us feel right at home—they were incredibly helpful, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. They accepted a package for us without a hitch and went out of their way to help with restaurant reservations and suggestions for things to do around town. Toby gave us the best onboarding check in we have every gotten. We stayed in one of the courtyard suites, which was quiet. It was nice to have a little private space to relax after a day out, and the room itself felt really charming and special. Breakfast each morning was a highlight—delicious food, different options every day, all served in a beautiful sunlit courtyard. In the afternoons, they set out tea and baked treats, which we looked forward to after exploring Newport. We loved the honor bar, too—it’s such a relaxed, old-school touch. Grabbing a drink there afterdinner was a nice routine. Everything about the property just felt welcoming and peaceful, and you absolutely can’t beat the location. It’s right in the center of Newport, so we were able to walk pretty much everywhere. We loved the Flora restaurant and Studio bar across the street at the Garnier House- just amazing places both of them. We’ve already told several people they need to check this place out, and we’re definitely planning to come back. If you want a place that’s comfortable, personal, and truly special, you’ll love the Francis Malbone House.

"Fabulous BnB Experience"

10.0

I chose the Malbone House based on the Trip Advisor reviews and was not disappointed. I prefer staying in BnB's if possible and you can't miss with the Malbone House's location, food, ambiance and staff. Afternoon tea was a welcome treat after touring the mansions and walking all day. Would definitely stay again.

The property itself is beautiful and staff outstanding. I was a little disappointed that the common areas did not have air conditioning. Location. Location. Location. Five minute walk to everything! Excellent breakfast and snacks.
