Catalonia Playa Maroma – All Inclusive

Buena comida y todo el personal (de todas las áreas con las que interactuamos) muy amables

Muy muy ruidoso. Estaban construyendo el elevador de nuestro edificio y durante todo el día había muchísimo ruido de construcción. Nos ha tocado viajar a otros hoteles en los que había construcción, y al ser más éticos nos avisaron que habría ruido para así ya nosotros decidir que hacer. En este hotel no nos avisaron, por lo que no pudimos descansar realmente y ya nos queríamos ir. Y, aunque muy amables, nadie nos resolvió el problema y no nos cambiaron de edificio porque decían que estábamos en una categoría que sólo era para ese edificio. Entonces pagamos para ir a un lugar en construcción y al hotel le pareció lo más normal que nos aguantáramos. Y ellos no perdieron negocio claro...

Fue una pesadilla!

Desde el principio hasta el final todo fue muy mal! La peor atención al cliente en todos los sentidos. Se nota que no tienen la menor intención de ayudar. Este es un hotel de 4 estrellas por mucho. Después de dos noches nos fuimos gracias a dios

The hotel’s beach is exceptional, the setting surrounded by nature and the animals present is very beautiful, and the corridor from the lobby to the pool/beach area is excellent.

The fact that we were unable to reserve the restaurants was disappointing — on the day of our arrival everything was already fully booked. After speaking with the concierge, we were advised to go directly to the restaurants at 6:30 pm, which is supposedly a less busy time. However, the staff were very unfriendly, especially at the Mama Mia restaurant, where William and Diana refused to give us a table. They told us that we could have a table only if we paid for a bottle of wine, which was incomprehensible since we do not drink alcohol, and we already paid a lot to stay at the hotel on an all-inclusive basis. We contacted the establishment to ask about the reason for this policy using the email provided by the reception, and to this day we have not received any kind of response. Lack of friendliness from the staff in general You should also pay attention to the exchange rate applied at the time of payment. We paid at the reception in dollars, and the exchange rate used was much higher than what is legally permitted. The difference in the final amount was quite significant.

Silly rules, service could be better

First off, Mexico is a fantastic destination with so much to do and see - if you haven’t been it’s worth it. The Catalonia hotels here are just what we were hoping for. The adults only at Tulum is well set out, with staff who take the time to make you feel welcome everywhere, but we stayed at the Playa Maroma this time as the kids came with us. The Playa Maroma is a fantastic hotel a little bigger to cater for families but this doesn’t impact on the feel of the place at all - the staff are all excellent, from Humberto and Juan who run the Bikini Bites crêperie to Jesus (easily the best omelette chef in town!) in the buffet restaurant - it’s impossible to name check them all, but they all deserve it. The entertainment team, local Mexicans, French, and Italian are fantastic - from aquagym, pool games, to the evening shows we can’t fault any of them - professional, but most importantly genuinely friendly and focused on making your time here enjoyable (and with the free Spanish lessons - educational as well!) There are others (so sorry for not getting all of them here!) but thank you to Karla, Maite, (snake hips) Vinci, Leo, Patricio, Daniel, Fernanda, Oscar, Ewel, Sully, Margot, Eduardo! We can’t wait to come back soon!

Javier in the Mexican restaurant served us and was an absolute gentleman every time we came he truly was one of the nicest people we encountered at all the restaurants

Adelitas was great - portions were a bit small but wait staff was great and attentive.

Loved this resort Loved the atmosphere Loved how quiet and calm everything was The food was amazing. The perfect amount of selection without overdoing it. Servers were 5 starts. Noe extended help in getting our daughters stainless steel plates cleans for us. Amazing
