Hanalei Colony Resort

The location is great, the ocean view from our room was just like in the picture, beautiful. We loved the cats' visit in the morning, Leo adopted us right away! The room was much bigger than expected, so much space!!! We could live there for a long time, lol! And the kitchen well equipped with everything. The resort is the perfect location to go visit Tunnels Beach & Limahue Garden & Preserve (absolutely gorgeous gardens!), I highly recommend it.

Just bummed out the restaurant was closed due to change of ownership, had to drive back to Hanalei for food.

We loved this hotel! Definitely splurge for an Ocean view room! It is amazing!!!!! Waking up to see that beautiful view of the ocean right out our window was spectacular!! Listening to the ocean waves at night was great too. Although some people might think it was too loud, we loved it. We liked having a kitchen too so we could make our own breakfast and just sit on the deck and enjoy the view. The beach isn't for swimming because it's too rocky, but there are other swim beaches nearby that you can drive to or take a hotel shuttle. We enjoyed just walking on the beach. I would definitely go back to this place!

I loved this quiet and peaceful place. It was so relaxing here. The pool was so warm and wonderful.

I liked everything. the location , the space, the comfort, the service, the convenience of the shuttle , the beauty .

The Hanalei Colony Resort was not just amazing but unforgettable experience. First, I would like to mention that staff members Margaret and Autumn are awesome!They made us feel very welcoming. Second, we stayed at H2 room and it was beyond with view of the very green mountains and ocean on the other side. It seems like private beach and for all 4 days that we stayed we never saw a person swimming beside us. The ocean is literally 5 steps from our room. Perfect location! The room had kitchen utensils, blander and some other stuff. Very clean. Very relaxing. I would give 10 out of 10 to this resort. We will come again! Aloha

Noisy fans

Die Lage ist wirklich großartig und die Anlage (Gartenbereich, Umgebung etc) sehr schön. Man ist direkt am Meer und in einem sehr schönen, abgelegenen Teil Kauais, sodass es ruhig und wenig trubelig ist. Der Pool ist sehr schön und das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt einen tollen Shuttleservice der einen zu den schönsten Stränden in der Umgebung bringt.

Die Unterkunft bzw das Apartment in dem wir untergebracht wurden, ist leider ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Einige Dinge waren beschädigt oder nur eingeschränkt funktionsfähig. Natürlich ist Kauai abgelegen und auch die Witterung führt zu Verschleiß, bei den Preisen haben wir es aber, auch für Kauai, als unangebracht empfunden. Irreführend war für uns die Bezeichnung der verschieden Appartements: wir dachten wir wären an der Ocean Front (also direkt vorne am Meer) untergebracht und haben in dem Glauben auch mehr bezahlt. Am Ende waren wir dann aber doch in zweiter Reihe - zwar mit Blick auf das Meer, aber im Erdgeschoss und mit dem Parkplatz hinter dem Apartment untergebracht. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns auch gesagt, dass es hier wohl öfter Missverständnisse gäbe. Alles ist auch sehr hellhörig, weswegen man gerade morgens doch recht früh wach wird. Insgesamt waren wir daher gerade vor dem Hintergrund der sehr hohen Preise ein wenig enttäuscht und sind unsicher ob wir wiederkommen würden.
