Chocolate Express Hotel & Suites Hershey

Def could be better. Bathtub soap dispenser leaks non stop this cheap soap which made the tub slippery. We put a towel down to not fall. Ac units need cleaning. Rooms need updating. Curtains from outside hotel reminded me of a truck stop hotel. The pool area is barely lit it's in the basement and is super cold for an indoor pool. It was creepy going to the basement to check it out. Some doors had padlocks on them.

Location is very convenient.

We were booked through hotels.com, but when we arrived, we were told that they didn't have our reservation. They told several other customers that they didn't have their reservations either. The hotel offered us to stay there for like $400. The hotel was dirty, in terrible condition, and the fact that they didn't have our reservation from hotels.com is unacceptable.

This was the WORST stay I have ever had in my life. When we arrived we were informed that we were being charged an extra fee of $18/night for housekeeping. When we entered the room it was obvious that no one had cleaned it, they only made the bed. There was a dead bug on the windowsill, empty tissue box, dust everywhere, no one had vacuumed, and the sheets and furniture were stained. When we were brushing our teeth in the bathroom before bed, the sink started leaking all over the floor. I called down to the front desk and they said they couldn't fix it but would switch our rooms if we wanted but it was after 11:30pm and we just wanted to sleep, so we discussed changing rooms in the morning. When we went downstairs in the morning to swim in the indoor pool, it was ice cold. We went and discussed the issues with the front desk staff. He was extremely rude, yelled at us, interrupted us when we were trying to explain all the issues and then told us we didn't have to stay there if we were going to complain. I asked to speak with his boss and he refused to let me. I told him we would come back to let him know if we would be leaving. We decided to stay because it was such short notice and just a place to sleep BUT when we came back down he told us he cancelled our stay anyways and would call the cops if we didn't leave. We demanded a refund of our entire stay but he still charged us one night and the cleaning fee! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Don’t stay here. Spare yourself. I am one to give a place with bad reviews the benefit of the doubt. Not anymore. Trust the bad reviews on this one. My blanket was shredded. Dead bugs around the room. Old soap all over the shower wall. The rug felt damp, like humidity took its toll on it. The hallways and elevator smelled like B.O. Breakfast was unwrapped hostess snacks, and they put the same ones out everyday. My husband would look and see them in the same position. Not to mention that they left them out all night and there were fruit flies all over yhe trays. This place was just sketchy and gross. The location itself was its only saving grace, but just go around the corner to the Hampton and spare yourself.

There was no bar soap supplied. Only hand dispenser in the shower. I had to go to the desk to ask for shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Nothing was stocked in the room. The pool in the basement was very cold and dirty. The breakfast was terrible. I believe it was reheated scrambled eggs and reheated sausages. They did also offer bagels they seemed fresh. However, the donut display was very, very stale. Lost some money in the vending machine trying to get a pop before realizing you had to buy that at the front desk. The room was kinda dirty. Not great housekeeping when it came to the floors. Would not stay here again! Especially when spending $350 a night!!

Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Had a horrible sewage odor and the both queen beds had stains.

Just like the other recent reviews, booked this hotel 10/13/2022 in preparation for a concert we were attending this past weekend. Got to the hotel around 2, and conveniently, my name was not on the check in list. This manager/owner was rude and extremely unethical. I asked him if I didn't have a reservation because he could rent the room for 4x what I was paying, and he flat out said Yes. He refused to acknowledge my confirmation email and told me to leave his hotel. Upon reaching out to Expedia to (hopefully) find another room during the sold out weekend, they informed me the owner/manager told them my CC declined. I never gave him my CC during our brief interaction, never gave him my ID, nothing. So which was it? You ran my credit card before I even stepped foot in the lobby, or you just wanted to get more money for the room? If my card did decline, why not ask for another method of payment? Oh because it didn't, it was the only card I used all weekend, with no issues. Do yourself a favor and AVOID this place at all costs!!! In addition to their shady business practices, the hotel was sketchy at best. Overgrown weeds in the parking lot, unmaintained landscaping, not even a functioning sign hanging on the building. Stay at the Springhill Suites or Hampton Inn right next door.

I booked this hotel 10/16/2022. There was no stay here. The hotel swears we never had a reservation as the tons of other people who were turned down. Staff was very impersonal and could care less. There was no Manager in the building. I was given a number to contact him and he did not answer, but was texting me and not resolving my issue. Many peoples nights were ruined as we were all there for a concert. They would not refund my payment stating that they never received it although my card was charged and I still owed $18 to them at check in.
