Chocolate Express Hotel & Suites Hershey

I'll start with the few positives of our stay. The hotel is close to Hershey Park but just enough out the town of Hershey that the prices here are more affordable than the hotels directly in Hershey. Also the staff working the check in desk were very nice. Unfortunately that's where the positives end. Upon walking into the hotel you notice a unique smell that is rather off-putting. The room we had booked was a honey-moon suite type of room with a jacuzzi in the center of the room, which is why we booked it. When we got up to our room and walked in it also had a weird/strong cleaning agent smell. What we had witnessed thus far made us a little skeptical so we thoroughly examined the room. From there we noticed holes cut in the wall under the desk in the master bedroom, for what I assume was electrical repairs, that was never covered back up. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling, the paint/wall paper was starting to peal around the room, and the work desk had a sticky residue on it. The last straw was the soap dispenser in the shower. It was not labeled what it was and what was the most disturbing was that the soap had something that seemed to float on top and was solid to the touch. Needless to say we did not use it. Also the soda and vending machines were out of order. We contemplated leaving right then but were only sleeping there so we stuck it out to save money. This was one of the suites so I would hate to see what a standard room looks like.

The place was dirty and nasty, there was mold in the refrigerator in the first room we got. There was no cleaning staff there , no management, had to call Expedia just to get the issue resolved will never stay there or recommend anyone to stay there again

Took us about 10 minutes to get someone to help us. Then there’s war no change for the washing machine and the room was so dirty

It's clean enough but no hot breakfast or pool open before memorial day apparently. Waited a half hour before anyone answered the phone they left at the front desk.

It was absolutely disgusting inside. There was trash all over the rooms floor, the man at the desk was walking around with his hands in his pants, tried to check me in under some random guys paperwork (im a female) and the worker was profusely yelling as he knew no English.

Did not stay here. Pulled in no cars, no lights, place looked sketchy, broken out windows laying on sidewalk, guy calls right before check in to make sure I’m coming. Went next door they told me the place had been closed. Lost out on money but I would not recommend anyone stay here.

The couch should be replaced. It feels like the inversion table. No breakfast. She just out on thr table old bagels. No milk

Pillows and bedspread smell like dirty and old

It was a very pleasant experience, Laurie was awesome and very friendly and helpful

Good hotel, some things show signs of wear and tear but overall, a decent place
