Chocolate Express Hotel & Suites Hershey

It is a nice enough hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable, employees are nice. You do, however, have to pay a "cleaning fee" of $18 per night on top of the nightly fee. The continental breakfast consisted of bagels and bread, so if you are looking for a place with a decent breakfast, this is not the place for you. It is convenient to Hershey Park, a grocery store, pizza place and gas station. (All are on the same road as the hotel.) Close to the outlets and other food/convenience stores.

Beware of this place and be sure to read other reviews-there are plenty of similar experiences to mine! I am not picky about where I stay, but when I showed up here with my two small kids with the sole purpose of spending one night to swim and the pool was not in service, we needed to find other accommodations. On top of the pool situation, the place was obviously dirty (even the front staff was unkempt), had a bad odor, and there was no one else there (literally one car in the parking lot- very bad sign and overall scary vibe). It feels much more like a motel than a hotel. They refused a refund - said it was absolutely impossible. So we were charged even though we never stayed there. There are many other clean and friendly two star hotels nearby. We ended up staying at the Days Inn by Wyndham which is a better location, cheaper, nice and clean and safe!

Was charged $18 upon arrival for booking through Hotels.com. Due to "COVID and supply chain shortages" they were only offering cold breakfast.

Everything was great and scepter the noisy refrigerator.

When I arrived, I was informed the housecleaning staff had all quit so the person at the front desk escorted me to my room to ensure my room had been cleaned. It was almost 5 hours after check-in time for a room reserved in advance. Things were orderly, and the person returned to the front desk. I then discovered that all of the bedding was either notably stained or torn. When I walked down to the front desk (there was no phone in the room to call down), I informed the person at the front desk of the state of the bedding and they gave me new bedding but were unable to change the sheets themself due to another guest checking in. I took the sheets back to my room and discovered those sheets were ALSO stained. While I am sure they were trying to do their best with limited staff, it shook my confidence in the cleanliness of where I was staying so I checked out of the hotel less than an hour after arriving. The front desk staff stated no ability to perform refunds but that they would inform the owners of the situation. Two days later, I have yet to be contacted.

We didnt end up staying. We were in the room for 5 mins and had to leave because of my boyfriends daughter. We live two hours away. Was told we couldnt get a refund even though we didnt stay. And my card was charged twice! Not to mention there were stains on the comforter in the hotel room i wouldnbt have stayed even if we could have!
