Pro: The central location is excellent, easy walking distance to the Avon theater, downtown restaurants and shopping. The staff was as accommodating as it could be, given the limitations of the facility. Con: The room and en suite bathroom are small and cramped. Our room had to be accessed by half a flight of stairs. We bought air freshener to combat the musty odors in the room and bathroom. We loaned the air freshener to friends who were in the room next door who were having the same experience.Compared to the Arden Park Hotel or The Parlor, The Windsor Hotel has a long way to go before it can be equal to them. Given the state of the facility the room charges were grotesquely overpriced. Overall not a good experience.

After we had booked the room, we were informed we had to book our parking separately. We immediately contacted the hotel and found no parking was available. The hotel offered that we could park at a place over a quarter mile away. The alternate parking proved to be an issue as the hotel does not have an area for unloading luggage from automobiles near the entrance and the long walk back from the alternate parking proved “unpleasant” on a hot and humid day.

Hotel room was clean. We were offered breakfast in the description of the room, but none was available. Even simple continental breakfast would be acceptable. We recommend grab bars for the showers for all guests, young or old!

Location was good for dinner and theatre. Paid parking was close. Hotel is under renovation. Key code wouldn’t lock room door on the 2nd day.

Great location but definitely needs updating. Rooms are very small & uncomfortable, especially the bathroom. Musty & unpleasant smell in room & hallway. However, staff were pleasant & helpful.

Easy check in. Pleasant staff. Clean room and comfy bed. Excellent location close to amenities.

We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was perfect for our travel needs. This was a birthday & anniversary trip so we can't speak to how it would be with kids but it was exactly as pictured, the staff were helpful, & the vibe was exactly what it looks like in the description & photos. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was perfect. Keep in mind that it is an older hotel that's been renovated but you can really only tell if you look closely. The HVAC systems and plumbing worked great and the walls aren't super thin. I didn't get any pics of the room because we were trying to focus on being present, but our room looked exactly like the pics on the website. We plan to stay here again when we bring our kids because it's literally in the heart of everything we wanted to do & explore in Stratford. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There was still hair in the bathroom sink, counter and shower from the previous guests so that was kind of gross but it wasn't a lot, just a few (4) strands total. Also, there was a candelabra chandelier in the bedroom but we never found the light switch for it so we didn't get to enjoy that. It was still pretty to look at though. Parking is exactly as they say-permits are available on a first come-first serve basis-but if their lot is full, the other free one is like a 5-minute walk, which worked for us because we wanted to do as much walking and sightseeing as possible. For those with accessibility issues though, it's something to consider. They have metered parking right in front & a paid lot right across the street, if that helps.

The property is tired. Clearly they are starting some renovations but the rooms are old and tired. Looks like they just put a coat of paint over everything including the bathroom tiles.
