Holiday Inn Milton Keynes - East M1, Jct. 14 by IHG

The hotel is very clean and the room was wonderful. Breakfast was a very good selection of buffet hot and cold and staff attentive and friendly, is also set in quiet grounds with plenty of parking. There are currently roadworks and is on a closed road. Actually I think this is a plus rather than a minus. Nice bar area and really friendly bar guy, although was empty of guests. Only moan was they do not have ice for drinks just cold glasses( well that’s what he told me) Overall one of the nicer hotels I have stayed at. But!!! Beware as a week later I had a letter from a company called BPA to say I had a £100 parking notice for using their car park. I had registered my car reg on the registration form on arrival as asked. What the reception guy never told me is that you should also enter it on to one of the many screens around the hotel. I only found this out on calling the hotel after getting the letter and a marvellous lady called Jill immediately sorting the parking charge and telling me she would get it cancelled. I do feel reception should have informed me you need to fill in screens on arrival as well as just writing it on your registration form as this was a stressful nasty shock after a lovely stay. However after the initial shock of the letter it was still a lovely hotel and would definitely stay again! But I do wonder how many people just pay the charge without challenging it

Really pleasant stay and I'd like to specially mention the bar staff (working night shift on 7th September) who warmed food and milk for my little girl. Really helped us out ans great service!

I stayed here for two nights with my husband and found this hotel to have really gone down hill. Upon check-in is where the issues started. I was questioned by the receptionist Ash if my husband and I really wanted a double bed. Being a gay couple we found this slightly odd. - no mention of our IHG rewards status or thanked for being a loyal customer - no mention of what times breakfast were - as members of IHG we can choose 500 welcome points or a free drink. This was not offered. - no explanation that I had to enter my car registration on the tablet - no mention of how to access the complimentary WiFi. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The bar man was helpful. Though he finished at 11pm and was in again for breakfast the next morning. I’m pretty sure that’s illegal. There were flies all over our bedroom The corridor leading up to the first floor stank of sour milk. The room wasn’t clean. Dust behind the TV. Female hair in the shower. Upholstery in the hotel is tired, stained and seen better days. The only good thing about the hotel was the shower pressure. Generally the hotel is looking tired, is unclean, staff unhelpful and homophobic. The holiday in express 5 minutes down the road is a much better hotel, and cheaper.

Arrived at the hotel to check in. Was promptly and rudely asked that as two men were we sure we wanted a king bed room!! From there the experience deteriorated. Zero professionalism, zero manners. ( clearly homophobic) At this point as IHG borderline platinum/diamond elite members you expect the usual thank you for being a valued member can we offer you points or welcome drinks. No not this time!! No acknowledgment at all. Hotel stank of what can only be described as mouldy milk. Getting to the room was the next disappointment. Dirty, dusty. Mixed old furniture that clearly needed to be replaced. Off to the bar to be told they had no ice and would close in 15 mins (11pm) Air conditioning that is that poor it’s pointless. Room 26 degrees so uncomfortable. Breakfast was edible but nothing impressive. Outside is uncleaned and uninviting. The guy at the bar was polite and decent and clearly overworked. At 23.15 he was still cleaning the bar, at 7am in the dining hall working again! Hotel clearly practices illegal employment tactics! (Reported to relevant authorities) Light broken or snapped off in rooms, dirty stained upholstery around the hotel. The only positive thing I can say is the shower pressure was good. Never felt so uncomfortable and unable to complain. Would avoid at all costs

Brilliant hotel , it certainly dose not look like a holiday Inn, more like a 5star hotel , but this hotel treats you like your in one !!! From start to finish could not fault , check in was brilliant, so easy and with a smile, room was absolutely fantastic we was on the ground floor overlooking which once was a georgian house garden, just could not fault it ,the restaurant was once again amazing greeted my KIKI and Sia ( I think that was his name ) thay are a asset to holiday inn , always smiling and happy to help , thay looked like that loved the role thay play at hotel, the food was absolutely amazing, never had food like that at a holiday Inn!!!, very quick service, and was very tasty and good value for money, once again thank you for a fantastic stay , after a very stressful day !!! Back soon .

Just a lovely hotel,very friendly staff, very clean room , and the rest of hotel was spotless easy safe car park, just a beautiful place , definitely be coming back soon for a night away, the restaurant was absolutely amazing the food was first class, and Kiki and sya made sure we had everything we needed thay are a assist to your hotel...thanks again Colin

Staff are helpful and accommodating, room is spotless and bed is so comfy

The property is a lovely building more like a country home, the staff were all very polite and happy to see you. We will certainly recommend to friends to stay here.
