Barony Castle Hotel

The breakfast offering is great; however only from 7:30am - for someone looking to leave a little earlier there is only a continental breakfast (toast, yoghurts, fruits, etc.) Staff are all very friendly; and made me feel welcome.

The orange juice (from concentrate) and cappuccino from the machine (long life milk) could have been better. My room was as far as it could possibly be from reception which is fine; but there is that old-hotel creak on the floorboards and a lot of fire doors to get through - not great if you are arriving late (or leaving early).

Excellent dinner in the evening.

Beautiful grounds, comfortable bed and excellent shower. Reception staff excellent. Room was very clean

Deluxe single room was very basic lacking, things such as coffee machine listed under the deluxe rooms heading and shown in pictures. Not a single hook or hanger in room. Continental breakfast lacked variety and coffee tasted like poor quality instant - would expect good quality freshly made ground coffee in hotel.

No aircondition as the room was so hot.There was a fan but it was not enough

Friendly staff who were very helpful and food was excellent.

The driveway up, but I think it was a shared drive so would require agreement to make improvements..

Sound proofing in rooms not great - was disturbed by noisy neighbours
